Great story, but so-so reading

I grew up reading Larry Niven, and always enjoyed his stories, especially the tales of Known Space. So I was really looking forward to the reading of Flatlander. Unfortunately, I was disappointed, Dennis Holland 's main reading voice is excellent. However, he seems to only have two or three secondary character voices. So all the other characters sound alike. In addition, he doesn't have the vocabulary required to read science fiction. He doesn't know the correct pronunciation for some of the words used in the story. Still and all, he did a reasonable job, barring the above. And these stories are excellent examples of Larry Niven's writings. His "Gil the Arm" stories are generally exemplars of "fair mysteries," mysteries where the reader has all the information required to solve the mystery. So in summary, if you are a fan of Known Space, you'll probably enjoy this performance.
