Really great plot and…

Really great plot and character development! Looking forward to the rest of the series. This would make a great TV series! Thankfully there is very little foul language and no sex scenes! There are several close quarter combat scenes and although the author shares some pretty gruesome battles thankfully they are not overly grotesque… i do not watch or listen to blood and guts filled entertainment. So far this is an awesome adventure!

Classic science fiction

Thoroughly enjoyed the “read.” Interesting characters, written in a style that evokes images in the listeners mind. Puts you in the action.

Commander!

I genuinely felt like Samuel Jackson's character in Pulp Fiction.. SAY COMMANDER ONE MORE (EXPLETIVE) TIME... but if you can slog through Commander being in nearly every sentence for hours at a time you'll have a great time listing.

Well written, outstanding performance, a most interesting story line. Only one question, when will Marc Stevens give us more?

Great start meh finish

The writing is decent and takes awhile to get going but it felt like the author tried to do too much. Still parts are engaging and entertaining but the last half felt like a bit of a slog. Author has potential and the book is a good plane trip listen. New narrator for me was very good.

AN UNEXPECTED TREASURE

I got this book with a refunded credit and fully expected it to be a horrible book or have a totally inept narrator. Audible has an over abundance of miserable narrations and ridiculous books. Imagine my surprise when I realized I had got lucky. This narrator as plethora of varied voices. He also has the ability to pour some life into his delivery. Too many voice actors simply just read the words. This narrator tells a story as if he was living it in the exact moment. Well done! The story itself smooth and flowing feel to it. The action scenes are well written. It makes it easy to see the action in your minds eye. The author did not even once use any utterly stupid made-up words. Such as M.R. Forbes. He is the world's worse sci-fi author when it comes to his ignorant words. He is so bad that I no longer read any of his so called "Work". Authors that believe they have to use non existent words generally have ZERO skill and/or natural ability. The book is well worth a credit and the time required to listening of it.
