Great!!!

I have read several of the books in this series, no overpowering need to read them in any particular order, and I became obsessed with finding the one which tells of this particular couple. Rafe is always portrayed as being very self possessed and amusedly calm regardless of the disaster at hand, while Tess is more ready to interfere in things and not at all intimidated by her impressive husband who heads the Council of Others.
This is a surprising tale with a lot of twists, shape shifting, spell casting, and erotica.
Very well worth the money, and the audio interpretation by Kate Reading is superb!

all you love about the "others" in this series

First, again let me say that everything you love about the "Others" in this series, you will find in this book. Out of everything my one complaint is that it ended far to soon, yet had the author dragged it out with the usual "filler" that would have spoiled it.

fun listen. dialogue had a lot of humor and made you feel light hearted

What did you like best about this story?
This was a very light story...not much depth, but I needed something fun and this did the trick. I purchased on sale. Good buy. Some of the other stories may have more depth than this one. I would not buy at a credit only on sale.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
the reader has a good male voice. I noticed that many readers who can do a male voice can sometimes not make a good female voice any more. They can sound hard or older than the female character they read.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did listen in one sitting as it left me feeling good

I will have to read other reviewers before buying more. I love this authors humor so that is worth a good look at the many reviews.

The last chapter

The last few minutes in the last chapter was exhausting. Too dragged out . Too much sexual explanation in between the real story. For me it was was the most disappointing and slow chapter in the otherwise great book.

Storyline variety

The best thing about this series is that eventhough the framework remains the same the storyline changes with each installment of the series. This is nearly unheard of in romance series genre. Thank you Ms. Warren for worthwhile entertainment.

Too much sex, not enough plot.

I place this story as around #6 the chronology lineup.

I have been waiting for this story to be told for a long time. Unfortunately, it was less than stellar. There was way too much sex for the amount of story line, and the plot was so thin you could see through it. If the truth be known, the series would have been better off without this addition.

I love the author's sense of humor

CW has a way of making the reader laugh out loud with her quick witted banter. The Others remains one of my top 3 favorite book series. Great character development and the characters stay true to themselves throughout the series. smoking hot romance is a plus too.
