Excellent "read"

These audio renditions are phenomenal for blind persons like myself. The narration makes the stories more vivid than the video versions.

I was not sure at first, but now I am sold... these audio versions are superior!

Bravo!

Not intended for listening

As a huge fan of all Doctor Who stories, I have listened to many by now. It is nice that this collection is interspersed with interviews, and that the recordings are obviously original, but the sound effects are way too loud compared to the voices.

I wish there was a way to optimize volumes to personal preferences, so that the annoying way the Daleks and that androgynous character could be turned down to almost zero, while still being able to understand their phrases.

Good Value

Where does Doctor Who: Classic TV Adventures Collection One rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

If you've bought the DVD's and don't want to pay full price for the soundtracks these are very reasonably priced.

Love, Love, Love

What made the experience of listening to Doctor Who: Classic TV Adventures Collection One the most enjoyable?

I am a fan of Dr Who and used to watch the original series' so I am a bit biased. I loved the way they combined the original sound track with narration. It was more like listening to a play. It was very well done.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The music and sound effects sounded great.
The narration is very well written. It matched the style well and fitted in perfectly. The descriptions of the visuals had just the right amount of detail, describing what was happening but also how the characters would sometimes stumble and be awkward or dazed so that you could visualise what was happening when there was no audio.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I have listened to a lot of audio books, but this is the first with original sound track and narration. The narrators were very good. Each episode was narrated by the actor who played the doctors assistant in that episode. It was interesting to hear short interviews from the narrators. I liked hearing the reminiscing and how they marvelled at how they were more famous now than when the show was filmed - more fan mail, and getting invited to events.
