What made the experience of listening to Doctor Who: Classic TV Adventures Collection One the most enjoyable?
I am a fan of Dr Who and used to watch the original series' so I am a bit biased. I loved the way they combined the original sound track with narration. It was more like listening to a play. It was very well done.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The music and sound effects sounded great.
The narration is very well written. It matched the style well and fitted in perfectly. The descriptions of the visuals had just the right amount of detail, describing what was happening but also how the characters would sometimes stumble and be awkward or dazed so that you could visualise what was happening when there was no audio.
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I have listened to a lot of audio books, but this is the first with original sound track and narration. The narrators were very good. Each episode was narrated by the actor who played the doctors assistant in that episode. It was interesting to hear short interviews from the narrators. I liked hearing the reminiscing and how they marvelled at how they were more famous now than when the show was filmed - more fan mail, and getting invited to events.
