Great book! Couldn't stop listening to this series fantastic!

I sure hope he comes out with but number 11 soon. This series is hard to turn off!

Nothing bad to say about the book or the series other than it takes almost a year to find out what happens next. This is one series that I have fallen in love with, the deepness of the characters the gigantic fictitious world.. the premise of alternate timelines, I LOVE IT! The narrator is EPIC, best choice for this book and series. Can't wait until the next one.

More of the Same - And That's a Good Thing!

The alternate world that our heroes have fallen in has now expanded to the full globe. The author is able to bring in different areas of the planet and the groups that live there. I would normally be hoping that the series would end while the author is on top of his game, but each book has the same quality of story telling. That seems like a difficult thing to do, but Anderson does it nonetheless. If one is familiar with the series, the reader may recall that some of the books are links in the chain that fill the gaps in the story. This is one of those types of books in the series that appears to be setting up the next novel. It has plenty of action, but one can tell the next book is going to be special. By the way, in cannot be overstated how great a job the narrator does. William Dufris is a very gifted individual and after ten books, I can tell exactly which character is speaking due to his talented voice. Some reviewers think this ought to be made into a movie, and I'm sure it could be, but the performance that Dufris gives makes any visual movie superfluous. Now it is time to wait for the next book to come out.

Great series

Wonderful writing. Story keeps me wanting more. I was worried that this book might be the end but we have away to go.

I LOVE this series!

I was excited to start the latest in this series. Captain Matt Reddy is leading the Alliance, consisting of Americans, Lemurians and Imperial British, in the strange alternate world where he and his Destroyerman battleship, Walker, have ended up. The allies are facing fights on several fronts. They have captured Grik City and have every expectation that the Griks will be back in swarms to try to recapture their “Celestial Home”. Some of the Grik leaders are craftier than when Matt first faced that enemy and they present more of a challenge.

On another front, Don Hernan and the awful bloody monks of the Dominion are trying to retake Fort Defiance. Commander Sinji has set up the defense in preparation of this expected attack, but now the human troops have been weakened by mosquito borne illness. Sinji will have to use brutal strategy and hope for reinforcements to prevail.

Meanwhile a new force has approached Japanese ‘General’ Kurokawa seeking his aid. The madman general had formerly aligned with the Grik but is planning his own revolution so that he can become ‘supreme emperor’ of this strange world.

I love the action and the connections between characters. Even the evil leaders, and their different level of troops, are portrayed with character growths. There is a good bit of military weaponry and multiple battles. Although I may not understand all of the technicalities I still like the strategy and the intensity of the action. I appreciate Mr. Anderson’s wonderful imagination and how he adds in new elements to set up storylines for the next installment. I will be anticipating the next book! I'm glad I only have to wait until June.

Audio Notes: William Dufris does a wonderful job on these narrations. He has multiple voices for the different characters, with a new Scottish brogue and Italian accent added in this installment.

Getting George RR Martin disease?

Just as good as all the others but the plot lines are beginning to get a bit stale. nothing really new to the story here.

Can't wait for the next book after reading this

These series are so well written and addictive they make you more than ready for the next book. The Author is a talented writer with a depth of knowledge to back it!
