Publisher's Summary

Now it's the turn of the weres and shifters to follow the lead of the undead and reveal their existence to the ordinary world. Sookie Stackhouse already knows about them, of course - her brother turns into a panther at the full moon, she's friend to the local Were pack, and Sam, her boss at Merlotte's bar, is a shifter. At first, the great Were revelation seems to go well - then the horribly mutilated body of a were-panther is found outside Merlotte's. Though Sookie never cared that much for the victim, no one deserves such a horrible death, so she agrees to use her telepathic talent to track down the murderer. But what Sookie doesn't realise is that there is a far greater danger than this killer threatening Bon Temps: a race of unhuman beings, older, more powerful and far more secretive than the vampires or the werewolves is preparing for war....

Excellent

I listened to all nine stories in a week having just discovered the fun of audio books on my ipod. Love the series.
Dead & Gone continues the storyline and expands further on Sookie's fairy heritage and we find out a little more about Eric - always a bonus. I always thought fairy's were too good to be true.
Looking forward to the new one in May.

Very good

After the disappointing (IMO) "From Dead to Worse", this is one of the stronger parts in the series. Nevertheless, sometimes I'm surprised how Sookie can miss some obvious hints as to what's going to happen next (the same was with the summit's surprise in "All Together Dead"). Well, otherwise, there would be no fun, right?

Again, -1 star for the poor quality of the audio. :( (BTW, did anyone else notice Johanna Parker lost the accent that Eric used to have e.g. in part 1?)

Dead and Gone

This is the ninth and most recent addition to the Sookie Stackhouse series. I think this is perhaps the most powerful book in the series and certainly the darkest. The fairies are determined to eradicate any humans with their blood, and that, it goes without saying, includes are hapless heroin. In such a situation, not everyone will emerge smiling, and Sookie may be damaged in more ways than one. As usual, Charlaine Harris is in fine form, and I'm now left begging for book 10 released next year.

Dead and Gone

I read the first three and have books 4 to 9 on audio. They are so good, I love the stories and the characters. This has been the best, as usual I was gripped from start to finish, you never know what will happen to Sookie next. I am always sad to reach the end and cannot wait for the next one. Johanna Parker is exceptional, she brings all the characters to life, brilliant choice for audio
