Publisher's summary

Cat Barahal and her beloved cousin Bee think they have reached a safe place to shelter. But the Cold Mages who are conspiring to take them prisoner are closing in. The warlord who hopes to conquer all Europa is convinced their destiny is to aid him, whether they want to or not. And the man Cat was forced to marry is back, as vainly arrogant and annoyingly handsome as ever. Worst of all, as Hallows' Night approaches, powers hidden deep within the spirit world are rising. Cat must seek allies against these threats and figure out who to trust, for if she makes the wrong choices, she'll lose everything. Only one thing is certain. When Hallows' Night comes the Wild Hunt will ride - and it feeds on mortal blood.

Awesome series!

Charlotte Perry is a genius narrator that brings this fantastic series to life. It's a thrill ride that blends a tale of exotic pantheons & human greed into which true love & heroism prevail. Just bought book 3

LOVED IT!

Where does Cold Fire rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

#2 so far!

What does Charlotte Parry bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

All the accents! I love her narration!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Of course the moment when Andevai walked away from Cat in the bar after Camjaita and Bea show up! I yelled aloud "Go after him!" There were other moments too but that is the one that sticks out now.

Any additional comments?

I absolutely loved this book. After finishing the Spiritwalker Trilogy this is my favorite of the three. I think mostly because of all the different interactions and places.

One of my favorite books; audio is fabulous

This book is one of my all-time favorites. It's a fantastic trilogy, which I've read more than once. The reading and performance in the audio version are excellent.

A Disappointment

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

After the first book, I looked forward to this book. The two girls are young school girls in the first one, and I expected them to be silly and naive. I expected more from the second book. I also didn't expect the book to turn into a badly written romance. Predictable tropes from dozens of romance novels interfere with the story. The main characters are all obnoxiously thoughtless. over and over and over.

Would you be willing to try another book from Kate Elliott? Why or why not?

I had heard such good things about her books. I may try another series but it will be after I forget how bad this book is.

Would you be willing to try another one of Charlotte Parry’s performances?

NO!! Oh the GELS! I was so tired of her accent!

Did Cold Fire inspire you to do anything?

It inspired me to write a review, which I rarely do, simply so others would not be misled by this book.

Any additional comments?

Neither a good fantasy nor a good romance.
