Publisher's summary

For years the Department of Military Sciences has fought to stop terrorists from using radical bioweapons - designer plagues, weaponized pathogens, genetically modified viruses, and even the zombie plague that first brought Ledger into the DMS. These terrible weapons have been locked away in the world’s most secure facility. Until now. Joe Ledger and Echo Team are scrambled when a highly elite team of killers breaks the unbreakable security and steals the world’s most dangerous weapons. Within days there are outbreaks of mass slaughter and murderous insanity across the American heartland. Can Joe Ledger stop a brilliant and devious master criminal from turning the Land of the Free into a land of the dead?

Code Zero, a Joe Ledger novel from Jonathan Maberry, is the exciting direct sequel to Patient Zero.

Not for the timid

Where does Code Zero rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Its my second favorite after "The Help". Love Ray Porter. He is a fascinating narrator.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Joe Ledger is may favorite. He is crazy as heck but a hero and good guy. Love the witty remarks and the fact that he is extremely sarcastic as well as a strategic fighter. All of that rolled in to one Bad A guy.

Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to all the books in the series. Ray Porter is so darn talented I can't put it into words.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There was a lot in this book that moved me. The fact the Wu finally showed some feelings was a shocker. I wish that Juny's story could have moved me, but i dont really care about her. Her loss left me empty and bored.

Any additional comments?

I am a big fan of this series. This is the only book I rated a 4 out of 5, instead of 5 stars. The time Maberry spent on Juny was a waste, but it is still a great book that i would highly recommend. The story was great. It was strong and intense and just plain ole scary as heck.

Maberry and Porter... An all star team!

Maberry and Porter do it again! The combination of excellent writing and Porter's narration made listening to Ledger's adventure a real pleasure. The story doesn't let up, with horror, laughter, action and intrigue in spades. The story builds and builds to a crescendo without a hiccup or stalled moment and concludes in a realistic and satisfying way. Loved it. Looking forward to more.

Blast

This whole series is a great listen. I don't mind suspending reality if the assumptions are consistent. The author can weave in enough credibility to make these stories work. This is one of the best narrators I have ever heard. If you want edge of seat surprise and tension you have to listen to this series. This is exactly what I want in a thriller.

Holy Crow

This book, THIS. DAMN. BOOK, had me stressed as hell. By now, if you've been reading these books in order, you should be invested in these characters in a way that you're terrified one of the regulars will die. It makes sense, given the nature of their work, and it. Is. Stressful!!

These book was fantastic. The story was amazing and Ray Porter's narration is without equal.

A good book but just a hodge podge of the past.

The book spends much of its time in interludes which are gateways to the past to explain or rather write in a character that wasn't previously there. creative, but just doesn't bring a new... wow factor.
