More military adventure than science fantasy

If you liked the first book in this series, you'll like this one about the same. The story is very similar - just different 'events' but, basically, Valentine faces some serious battles and, ultimately, makes friends and saves the day.

This one does have a bit less detail on the bad Kur alien life forms (why, who, what) and is more military adventure than science fantasy (more like David Weber's March Upcountry than a post apocalyptic novel).

Anyway, it's entertaining, violent, satisfying, non-political and non-cheesy so I'd say give it a go. The narration is very well done.

- crazybatcow "I like Jack Reacher style characters regardless of setting. Put them in outer space, in modern America, in a military setting, on an alien planet... no worries. Book has non moralistic vigilante-justice? Sign me up! (oh, I read urban fantasy, soft and hard sci-fi, trashy vampire and zombie novels too)"

Time for a swim

This book lives up to its predicesor. Our hero gets busy on the beach. Good continuation of the story. Worth your time, money or credit, naration is a great complimet to the story.
