Publisher's summary

Mack begins her training at the mages' academy in the hope that, by complying, the stasis spell will be lifted from her old friend Mrs. Alcoon. However, once there, she finds herself surrounded by unfriendly adults and petulant teenagers, the majority of whom seem determined to see her fail.

Feeling attacked on all fronts, Mack finds it harder and harder to keep a rein on her temper. Forced to attend anger management classes and deal with the predatory attentions of Corrigan, the Lord Alpha of the shapeshifter world, her emotions start to unravel. But when she comes across a familiar text within the walls of the mages' library, which might just provide the clues she needs to unlock the secrets of her background and her dragon blood, she realizes that her problems are only just beginning.…

Fizzeled out for me.

I got first person digression fatigue from this one. It takes forever for anything to happen -- which assumes that something finally does happen. I'm halfway through part 2 of this one and I'm so bored I keep putting off finishing it.

Will she or won't she get together with Corrigan? Who knows? She's such a bitch I hardly care. Corrigan deserves better.

I'm done

I'm finally giving up on this one. The idea behind the story is good but the main character lacks even one redeeming quality. Yet people are still drawn to her....much less even like her? Whatever.

Also, I was struggling after book 2 with these same issues, which got worse, and read some reviews to see if I was alone in this opinion. I came across one the pointed out the excessive use of the 1st person so of course that meant I noticed all 8 million uses of the word "I". Thanks for that whoever you are. Of course I also noticed the authors 2nd favorite word too.... the F bomb.

Still keeping it interesting

Finally, the last chapters of the book were on the verge of being intense. :) Fist time I actually feel a little in suspense at what might happen next. Yaay. I hope it meets my expectations. :)

Getting better.

Doesn't quite live up to the first two...

The first two created an interesting world with interesting creatures and a potential romantic interest; however, sending her to school brought an almost adult book into a much more teen realm. I feel like this story could have been a novella and much more compelling. I'll still get the next one to see if the spark and potential fire returns, but I'm a bit skeptical.

A struggle to finish

I like the story except the part that felt Hogwarts-like. Very little action, not very exciting. I am debating whether it is worth reading the rest of the series.

Great! Can't get enough.

I've read the whole series and thought I'd listen to the series. The narrator could work on the acting and nailing different voices because the characters come off differently (maybe that's just me). Still loved it! despite how irritating Mack can be, I still love her and all the other characters.

Blood Rage

Delightful urban fantasy with humour, sarcasm, banter, and action and adventures. Along with some grumpy characters for good measure.

Story Continues…

I like that with each book you learn more and more about the main characters while meeting new ones and solving an issue in each book.
