Publisher's Summary

Before there was a modern-day town called Dark Moon Vale, there was an ancient kingdom nestled in the Transylvanian Alps. Before there was a primordial species called the Vampyr, there was a celestial race begotten of gods and men. Before light battled shadow, the sacrifice became mandatory, or the first Blood Moon adorned the celestial sky...
There was The Curse.
A punishment.
An abomination.
The ultimate act of vengeance.
And it was placed upon a people so corrupted by their thirst for blood and dominion that they awakened the souls of the slain and became the souls of the damned.
Young, beautiful, and in the prime of her life, Jessenia Groza is not ready to die. Yet she has been condemned by Prince Jaegar's men, slated as a sacrifice to the gods.
Timaos Silivasi would gladly risk everything - his power, his privilege, his celestial heart - to save his one true love, but fate has a plan of its own...
For this couple.
For this civilization.
For this lost race of warriors, who will never be the same.
Every legend has a beginning.

The Beginning of the Curse

What made the experience of listening to Blood Genesis the most enjoyable?

In this book, we hear the story of the Blood Curse firsthand from Jessenia, the last living female, and Timaos Silivasi, her love and the forefather of the present Silivasi family.

What did you like best about this story?

Jessenia's story...her tremendous courage to fight for the future generations of Prince Jadon, her beloved Timaos, and the child Napoleon Mondragon, was compelling as she dealt with her fear of being sacrificed as the last living female.

Which character – as performed by Eric G. Dove – was your favorite?

Jessenia was definitely my favorite character as performed by Eric Dove. He brought to life each emotion...the fear, the anger, the love, and the courage of this amazing woman!

For everything, there is a beginning!

Would you listen to Blood Genesis again? Why?

I would...and I have!

What about Eric G. Dove’s performance did you like?

Eric has taken great care in giving each character his/her own life. His narration brings the listener into the world and you feel the presence of each character.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Only excitement and a desire to hear more about the lives of the prince's before the course. I would love to have more stories about this time period to have an even bigger picture of who these men are.

Any additional comments?

Blood Genesis is a well-crafted short story that allows readers, both loyal fans and new, a glimpse into the origins of the Blood Curse that plagues the lives of the vampires we have grown to love. Through this tale we learn more about the brothers, Jadon and Jaegar, patriarchs of the great vampire houses and the architects of the events that led to the world we know today in Dark Moon Vale. As with all of her work, Tessa’s words allow us to feel the fear, the anger and the love that exists in the world she has created, only this time…those feelings exist in the ancient lands during a time of war and darkness. This prequel is a great starting point for new readers to the Blood Curse series. And trust me, once you’ve finished, you’ll be craving more.
