Publisher's summary

Her whole life it had just been the two of them. Before her mother's last breath, she gave Camille the information she had craved her entire life: the identity of her father. Daring to contact him, Camille was welcomed by an entire family she never knew existed. But nothing comes without a price, as she discovers when her family claims a legendary heritage tracing back to a Centaur touched by Zeus.

As she learns the secrets of her Centaur bloodline, she is drawn into a forbidden love with Drake. Her family acknowledges her life may be the blood debt required to pay for her mother's transgressions. The same person who once held her mother captive, and forced her into decades of hiding, now controls Camille. Her only chance is to seek a piece of her mother's past that will win her freedom and the life she desperately desires.

I am so glad this series is on audio now!

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Debt to be better than the print version?

The audio version is better than the print version because you can relax and fully imagine the story instead of having part of your focus on text. It also allows you to listen while driving. Huge plus when devouring books.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the way the characters were developed and the idea of a different SciFi creature/family.

Any additional comments?

This author rocks and I would highly recommend reading her other works! You wont regret it.

What an exciting story!

What made the experience of listening to Blood Debt the most enjoyable?

I loved all the mythology tales! The way the narrator (Teri Schnaubelt) read the story also made it more exciting! It was like listening to the movie. All the different voices for the different characters,. I could almost see the entire book as it happened!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Debt?

2 things were most memorable for me. The 1st is when Gage showed up in Florida with Bianca & Drake to save/help Camille. The 2nd most memorable part was when Grandmother had told Gage & Camille that she just killed both Drake & Bianca, thus removing the competition! WOW!!!

Have you listened to any of Teri Schnaubelt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I have listened to Teri's narrating before & enjoyed it too!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It is a book I would like to have listened to straight thru, but it is a very long book and sleep had to come, so I finished it the next day.

Any additional comments?

Excellent book! I thought when I read description, that I might like this book. I LOVED this book! Well written storyline & plot mixing past & present together. I look forward to the next book in this series! Good job to both Author & Narrator!

A different kind of paranormal

This is a fresh new take on paranormal reads. Not a lot of centaurs out there, not that I have read. This takes elements of mythology and wraps them into a modern setting. Really fantastic world building.

Cami is a great character. I love that even though she comes from humble beginning she is pretty solid in her background. To be thrown into a suddenly rich lifestyle but to keep yourself, is tough. I like that she wasn't letting it change who she was as a person.

The romance is really well done. At first I was a bit wary, cause he was attached to another lady. Fortunately this is a mixed narrative and you get to see how it shapes up.

This book has a great supporting cast, many of then take over the narrative for a bit. It is a little jumpy at times, but it helps get make a fuller story. There are a lot of elements to keep track of throughout. The mixed narrative helps you understand everything and keeps the story pooping.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Teri Schnaubelt. She does a fabulous job with all the voices and accents. There was so much to do, with all those narratives. She keeps it consistent and distinctive. Her pace is swift and really helps move the story along. I enjoyed her energy and am eager to hear her in the rest of the series.

I am very eager to see where the story goes next, This is definitely a series that is connected and needs to be read in order. This book ends on a happy note, not a cliffhanger but not a happy ever after.

Loved the book and can't wait to read the next in the series. Such strict dating rules had me laughing out loud. Grandmother needs a counselor!

Great Story, great narrator

Cami has lived her life essentially in the dark, until her mother passes and her world turns into an alternate universe. She begins to learn the secrets her mother has tried desperately to keep and meets family she did not know existed. She is thrown into a world where her hopes and dreams are twisted into her worst nightmare. She is sure she has been sucked into an alternate reality, but has she?
Centaur legend has begun to sink into her, a life she does not appreciate not having been raised with the "proper" way to act, date, live.....her destiny is up in the air and she is left wondering if it is worth seeking out.

Cami is a strong, determined young woman who has her mind set on love, life and integrity. She resists the Centaur way of life at every turn with the exception of acceptance of her new family.
I love the romantic story meshed into this book. The friendships are strong, the characters determined/strong and personalities are so well developed, I could not stop listening. I cannot wait to see where this story goes. The author has done an amazing job tying centaur legend to the gods, giving this "race" their own skills.

I read this in e-book years ago, while listening to this audio book, I was able to really appreciate this story so much more. The narrator has given this book true life.
