Publisher's Summary

A heart-warming tale of Armageddon from one of the funniest, most original voices in comic fiction today.…
The third planet out from the star was blue, with green splodges. Dirt. Oh, the bomb thought. And then its courage, determination and nobility-of-spirit subroutines cut in, overriding everything else, adrenalizing its command functions and bypassing its cyberphrenetic nodes. Here goes, said the bomb to it. Calibrate navigational pod. Engage primary thrusters. Ready auxiliary drive.
It knew, in that moment, that its own doom was near; because it was giving itself orders, and it wasn’t putting in any ‘the’s. That was what you did, apparently, when the moment came. You could also turn on a flashing red beacon and a siren, but mercifully these were optional. Oh #//+! thought the bomb, and surged on towards Dirt like an avenging angel.

Critic Reviews

"A clever, funny, tirelessly inventive, apocalyptic leg-hump of a book. Tom Holt may be the most imaginative satirist to land on our shores since Douglas Adams." (Christopher Moore)

Simply Fabulous!!!

What made the experience of listening to Blonde Bombshell the most enjoyable?

To put it simply, this is a hilarious and truly original story which read in way which not only tells that story but also brings the characters to life

What other book might you compare Blonde Bombshell to, and why?

If you enjoy the DiscWorld series by Sir Terry Pratchett, you'll love this. Not because the subject matter is at all similar, but rather that the writing style has the same depth of character and subtle deftness of hand that even the most ridiculous scenarios are totally immersive.

What does Ray Sawyer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

A great style of reading, nae acting, for these titles truly are performed by Ray Sawer. This in turn make these stories almost impossible to pause as the ride is so enjoyable.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh out loud comedy. well written, with a subtle hand which make the humour all the better

Any additional comments?

if you only but one book this year, you could do far far worse than pick one of Tom Holts. It just happens that Blonde Bombshell is my personal favourite. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.

Just as good every time you listen

If you could sum up Blonde Bombshell in three words, what would they be?

Funny, different, entertaining

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blonde Bombshell?

I always love the "Barbie" moment

What about Ray Sawyer’s performance did you like?

He has great voices and great comic delivery.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The book is more funny than moving but I did empathise with several of the main characters.

Any additional comments?

This is one of my favourite audiobooks. The characters are likeable and interesting and I laugh at the same bits every time. Entertaining escapism when you need cheering up.
