Publisher's Summary

Now that news of Horus' treachery is in the open, a time of testing has come. Some Legions have already declared their allegiance to the Warmaster while the loyalty of others lies firmly with the Emperor. As Horus deploys his forces, loyalist Astartes learn that a massive Wordbearers fleet is heading to Ultramar, home of the Ultramarines.
Unless they can intercept the fleet and destroy the mighty battleship that has been sent to reinforce it, the Ultramarines may suffer a blow from which they will never recover.

The accents were nice. But often times there was no inflection change from narrative next to character spoken text. So I wasn’t sure when it was that a character was speaking compared to narration.

I felt the second half of the books writing and voice acting were different than the first half. It would have been a greater experience if the whole book was written like the second half and voice acted in a similar fashion.

So very boring.

Went on and on. Just straight killing. No real character development . waste of time.

Everywhere and Nowhere

As always so far with this series the performance is to a high standard. Unfortunatley the story here was abit lacking. This is the 1st story to focus on the Ultramarines and as such I was looking forward to it very much. I was dissapointed because this story focuses allot in space and although that has potential to be very interesting I just found it to be very generic combat. I suppose to explain further I mean that there is no explanation as to the details and the particulars of the various elements involved with space battles i.e. i have no idea as to whether a battle barge is 500m long or 2 miles long so then you dont have the foundations needed to really visualise the scene that the writer tries to describe. Other elements of the story however were good like the conflict between the Wolf and the 1000 son. Although another thing I am noticing is that the traitor legions are all bad and the loyal legions are all good, other than the first books about the lunar wolves there is not really any internal conflicts which seems possible but just less enjoyable. I think that if ther were for instance some 1000 sons and Ultramrine traitors vs 1000 sons and Ultramarine Loyalists then the drama would be so much more.
