Publisher's Summary

As a child Chris Hooper dreamed of monsters. But in deep space, he found only darkness and isolation. Then, on planet LV178, he and his fellow miners discovered a storm-scoured, sand-blasted hell - and trimonite, the hardest material known to man.
When a shuttle crashes into the mining ship Marion, the miners learn that there was more than trimonite deep in the caverns. There was evil, hibernating - and waiting for suitable prey. Hoop and his associates uncover a nest of Xenomorphs, and hell takes on a new meaning. Quickly they discover that their only hope lies with the unlikeliest of saviors....
Ellen Ripley, the last human survivor of the salvage ship Nostromo.

A very good listen.

I don't usually write reviews, I normally just rate them, but this book was so unexpectedly different from what I thought it would be, I had to write.
I expected the book to be the same story from all the other books or movies, with different words and character names, but I was very surprised. The book was very good, I didn't want to pause it when I had to, and I stayed up until 6am just to finish it. If you like the Alien stuff, or Sci-fi stuff, I definitely recommend giving this book a go, my personal opinion was, it was very good, and very much worth the credit. Oh, and I hope you enjoy Alien: Out of the Shadows as much as I did.

Horrible story and ruined the Ripley character

What disappointed you about Alien: Out of the Shadows?

The Ripley character which has always been strong was simply weak in this book. The Hooper character was annoying and unlikable. The Aliens played a very little role in this.

What could Tim Lebbon have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

He could have simply excluded the Ripley character and make up a different new person and the story would have been a little better.

What does Jeff Harding bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Good narrator.

What character would you cut from Alien: Out of the Shadows?

Hooper and Ripley. Hooper was an ass and Ripley was not protrayed as she should be.

Any additional comments?

I regret buying this book.
