Publisher's summary

It's been slightly over a year since Kellan Thorne first accepted the Sentinel's mantel, and its power was renewed in him. He thought destroying an Arch Demon and banishing his Chaotic opposite would have brought him more respite than it did. Now Creation itself is under threat, by a Cabal of Angels and Demons who have found a way to shatter the foundational pillars of Time itself. This dire warning is brought to the young Sentinel by an unlikely messenger, who risks all to enlist the aid of God's unchecked hand on the world.

Kellan must decide if he will stay true to his dead master's teachings and oppose all unnatural beings, or risk everything by trusting that they might rise above their natures in defense of a common threat. This sets off a whirlwind effort that crosses both centuries and miles, as Kellan, Shannon, Meghan, and new allies try desperately to stay one step ahead of the Cabal. Their efforts will take them back to medieval Scotland and through modern day Egypt, Ethiopia, and Vatican City. Along the way, Kellan will face new threats and form new alliances as his motley crew does its best to prevent the Cabal from destroying all our yesterdays.

New characters are killing it!

I enjoyed every character that got fleshed out in the first book, and I like the new characters even more. 2nd book is just as good, if not better than the first.

getting even better

the concept of the Sentinels was new in book one and RWR laid a lot of groundwork there setting it all up. Things get rolling here and it's shaping up to be a great series. Binging them as fast as I can.

loved the stories progression

listening to this was effortless and ended all to briefly, I am a huge fan of the concept of time travel and I quite enjoyed how traveling through time became more crucial in this 2nd book I've read all of the 5 already more then once and I cannot wait for book 6!

AND SO IT CONTINUES GLORIOUSLY

I'm going to be honest never have a heard a writer and a narrator so in sync. This is truly a wonderful listen.

I really want to like it

I really enjoyed the first book so I had high hopes for this one. That might be part of my issue with it.

The intelligent main character who never forgot anything is an idiot that constantly forgets everything in this book. Honestly it was a bit tiring hearing him ask questions that were answered moments before .

Oh and the whole everyone around the MC has to be special troupe is present in full force. At some point the author does make note of it but that doesn't excuse it. Not everyone has to be special all the time.

Lastly the whole meg storyline was promising in the first one but after this book I hope she dies painfully. It was absolutely a nonsensical plot for no reason other then to pair meg with a man. oh and give her superpowers because why not.

I don't think I want to continue this story anymore but I might. The voice actor is just that good. I have never regretted buying a series he voiced. I can't believe this one would be the first.

What the Hell

I liked the book. The story and everything, but what I can't get over is the weird ass power balancing. One of the times that pissed me off was where Megan was facing Serame or however, you spelled the gods' names. What makes no sense is that it makes it seem like a fair fight. IT MAKES NO SENSE, SHE IS A MORTAL THAT HAS ONLY BEEN A MARINE WHERE HE IS A MULTI-THOUSAND YEAR OLD BEING THAT HAS FOUGHT WARS AND HAS THE FEAR OR THOUSANDS AND IS CALLED A LORD. YET HE IS LOSING A BATTLE AGAINST A MORTAL. Makes no sense to me. If so, these are some weak ass gods and unnatural creatures.

Fantastic

Great sequel and I'm right on my way to book 3. Narration is diverse and fun and the constant references to Kvoth give me flashbacks lol

Thank you Robert W.Ross!!

Ok so I have been stuck in a rut of uninteresting audio books. Then I stumbled on the Trinity’s Children series and immediately found the Sentinels of Creation. I devoured this book in 2 days. It pulled me in instantly with the deep (but not depressing) story line, loveable characters and humor. The pop culture references and Easter eggs were MUCH APPRECIATED! It made me feel like the author really understood me… like little inside jokes just between us. The Kvothe ones were my favorite:)
Nick Podhel is amazing as always! He brings every single character to life in my minds eye. I have listened to many series narrated by Nick and can always tell exactly which character he is channeling. He is an absolute master!
I could go on and on but the next book in the series just finished downloading so I have to go see what all my newest friends are up to now. Thanks so much… keep em coming!! And thank you again!

A significant improvement from book 1

Let me start by saying I have enjoyed each book that I have read from Robert w Ross. I am currently on my second read through of sentinels of creation and am enjoying it even more the second time. That being said, I think that book 1 a power renewed has many weaknesses. Those weaknesses did not affect my enjoyment of the book, but probably would for many readers. Book two is an improvement from book one in every way. The plot is strong, the pacing is solid, and the world building is much improved. If you made it through the first book with all its flaws, then I highly recommend you continue this series. It only gets better from here.
