Publisher's summary

We fought the invading New Men to a standstill and defeated the alien destroyer sent to obliterate Earth.

The worst should be over, but it's not.

Perfect android replicas are impersonating high-level officials so trust is failing. Worse, the New Men have found allies with an impenetrable stealth technology.

This time, however, Earth is going on the offensive. Admiral Fletcher is headed to C Quadrant with a Grand Fleet. He's to liberate the captured planets and find the enemy homeworld. What he isn't supposed to do is die.

The only one who can save humanity has been grounded. Captain Maddox is under suspicion because he's half New Man. But he's not going to stop. He's found something unbelievable. Now, he needs Starship Victory-an ancient, alien spacecraft-the AI Galyan, Meta, Sergeant Riker and the others to help him tear the greatest secret of all from the enemy.

Maddox and his crew must succeed or humanity will drown in a sea of human extinction.

Classic story

This installment is my favorite so far. The crew isn't constantly in a state of escape. Every plan doesn't fail. It's also creative in its world building. The far flung destinations are actually visited. The scope of the plot is much broader in this book. My favorite aspect is the old fashioned radio serial feel to the narration. Maddox especially is portrayed in that Classic Private Detective affectation. The next book is well set up in the ending. Can't wait. Please keep the same narrator. It wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable.

Perpetual Capt. Maddox

The series has clearly gotten better. The one thing that seems out of place is Capt. Maddox. The man saves humanity time and again yet recieves no promotion or status improvement? Overall a good series.

Compelling Series

This installment seemed to lack the depth of the earlier installments. The story is so well crafted that you are still invested in the main characters. Already looking forward to the next book in the series.

This series is awsome!

This series is very entertaining and I hope it keeps going. Boyett the narrator ties it in nicely too. Heppner has expanded the possibility of a new but old enemy in the storyline. Hey Heppner! when your writing another INVASION book? I know you read these reviews loco! Keep them coming!

Excellent storytelling from a great author and narrator

High space adventure in the universe that remains me of the Roddenberry Star Trek crossed with the Whedon firefly the result an unique one of a kind story told on space. Flash Gordon meets idealized version of romance and war on a positive humanity's future . Cheers Vaughn and thanks for the story and the memories heck of a wonderful w story
