Publisher's summary

Jenny's single-parent life revolves around her kids and her job, which means that hours of Animal Planet and strings of computer code are about all she has time for. Not that Jenny's looking for adventure or romance - she's the type of woman who believes in playing it safe.

When Jenny is called upon to do some consulting for the Bourbon Street Boys - a New Orleans private security firm - she knows she should stay away. They conduct surveillance on known criminals and put themselves in harm's way pretty much every day, so No is the obvious answer...Problem is, there's a guy on the team with a body to die for and a dimple that just won't quit luring Jenny in, tempting her to throw all caution to the wind.

Will Jenny take the risk or will she do what she's always done - play it safe and wait for the right time?

Enjoyed the story

I enjoyed this story.but had to quit listening and just read. This certainly isn't the worst I've listened to. The narration is good when Ms Godley forgets to change her voice. The rest of the time......Her attempts at accents are awful! Do these characters have a speech impediment???
I wish she didn't try so hard to change her voice and accent. Stories can be read and understood with the fake.

Even single mom's can have a life..

What did you love best about Wrong Place, Right Time?

The book is primarily in first person, Jenny, single mom, with employment insecurity. Ms Godley sounds just like Jenny is written. She is quirky, a great mom, with a wonderful internal conversation going on.

What did you like best about this story?

The entire story. Dev is a big, tall, doll of a guy. He is charming and has a great sense of humor. Fits right in with Jenny. I love their relationship.

Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Godley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the kids first me Jacob. So touching, out of the mouths of babes.

Any additional comments?

I thoroughly loved this story from start to finish. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. You will never forget their love scene. Enough said. You need to experience it for yourself whether in written or audio form.

Romantic Chivalry

What did I like?
-The performance was very good with the voices. The pause dramatic tones was in all the correct places.
-A woman spoiled by chivalry of what is ladies dream about, let's the listener/reader escape reality for awhile.

What I didn't like?
-The ending leaves you wanting more. The action ends abruptly. This is typical with any series however.

Who would I recommend this book to?
-Any woman who lost her job recently.
-Any woman who is a single mother.
-Any woman who likes chivalry.
-Any woman interested in a little action and romance in her books.

Why did I choose 5 stars?
This was well written. It flowed for the reader, the story was interesting and the performance was phenomenal.

It was pretty good

I want to say I like the idea the author made for this series. Sadly, this book didn't have really excitement or mystery. Something happens in the beginning, then the whole story, then something happens in the end. I want more mystery and suspense with my romance- which is why I started this series. The first book was good. This one, although I liked the characters, didn't have enough excitement.

Better than the first, some humorous moments

The female lead in this one is more mature and likable than the first one IMO. I liked that she was a single mom, I liked that Dev had his own set of insecurities, and the story was believable. I can't say it rocked my world, but it was cute, sweet and gave me a few chuckles -- a nice way to pass time driving to and from work.

First time review

I'm sorry to say I couldn't listen to the book for more than three chapters. The performance was so poor. The narrator was all over the place with her accents. The story is set in the south, but the main character sometimes had a New England accent. Also her voice made the "alpha male " lead sound like a wuss. The narrator should only record children books. Don't listen, read the book. Because the story is enjoyable.

stupid

I tried this 2 or 3 times but i just could not tolerate it. For a woman who is divorced and have 3 kids, she comes off as immature, have low self esteem, childish, indecisive and just annoys the hell out of me. The Narrator's voice definitely shows all of that too. I'm in no mood for crap. I'm really in a book slump.

Can't stand a weak lead female

Any additional comments?

This book had one of the weakest female leads, I found myself getting annoyed by her and her reactions. I couldn't get into the book at all.

The narrator could have been heaps better.

wrong narrator

Narrator sounded like a child at times. may have been better with a different narrator.

A bit frustrating

The H was so negative and immature. I felt like acted more like a new teen instead of a mom of 3.

How she handles the boss at her old job pissed me off. EC is a good author but I have no clue what she was thinking when she let the crooked boss walk all over her.

The narrator wasn't bad but not the best choice for this story.
