Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author K. Bromberg comes a new, sexy standalone about taking chances and finding love when it's least expected. Or wanted.

This whole contest was supposed to be easy. I know, I know. Famous last words.

It's a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you've seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I'm successful, if I'm able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job.

But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number 10, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell?

Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I've ever seen.

But I don't want a relationship. And I definitely don't fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles.

But he got to me. They got to me. Him and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there's an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life.

And now that the contest is about to end, we're left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all.

This book is definitely Worth the Risk!

Kristy Bromberg knows how to write a great love story. Those Malone brothers are swoon worthy and as a cherry on top little Luke Malone comes in and steals your heart. This book takes to the edge of an emotional journey and saves you in the nick of time. This is a great story and a must read. Zachary and Grace give a great performance.

Worth the Risk is DEFINITELY Worth the Risk!

Worth the Risk is DEFINITELY a book that is worth the risk if you have never read any of K. Bromberg's books! It is a funny, frustrating, heartbreaking, sweet cry of a story.

Grayson Malone is a hero...but don't ask him or he'll tell you different. His biggest fan is his 8 year old son, Luke. Being both a single dad and a medieval pilot brings along a lot of responsibility, stress, and baggage.
Sidney Thorton is back in her hometown trying to right a wrong career move when she realizes that that one wrong move might have been the rightest wrong she ever made.

I knew that I was going to love this story but I didn't realize that I was going to LOVE this story! Grayson was frustrating but he had his reasons and I can't fault him for feeling the way that he did. Of course, a little communication would have helped but then we wouldn't have all the angst that we love to hate, right? Sidney...I know that some would say that she was selfish and entitled and while I kind of see that I more so saw where she had grown up some and while she still had her moments, she wasn't the same girl with a silver spoon in her hand that she was in high school. Then we have Luke. Oh. My. Goodness. How anyone wouldn't fall right in love with him I will never know. He is 8 and while he knows he is loved by his dad, there is nothing like a mother's love and he longs for it. He broke my heart and he made me literally laugh out loud.

Grace Grant and Zachary Webber are wonderful at not only the narration, in general, but really making you feel what the characters are feeling. You really can't go wrong with those two.

Worth the Listen

I just finished listening to Worth the Risk on Audible and it was incredible! Grace Grant and Zachary Webber did a great job of bringing Sidney and Grayson's story to life! They show so much emotion at the right moments and made me really feel the pain the characters felt and the love they felt for one another. My favorite moments in the book came at the hands of a charming 8-year old boy. Luke definitely steals the show!

I highly recommend this audio!

Love Love Loved it!

I absolutely loved this book. Of the three brothers, Grayson was by far my favorite. We met and fell in love with his brothers in Cuffed and Combust by Grayson stole my heart here. He is the sexy Single dad we all drool over. The love between him and his son was absolutely heart melting. I loved his story!

The narration was fantastic. Clean editing, Great performance! Would absolutely listen to these narrators again in a heartbeat.

Nice story - Read it for Zachary Webber

I would listen to Zachary Webber read the phone book! That being said, I enjoyed this story. Grace Grant is not my favorite female narrator. Her voice bothers me a bit, though I cannot put my finger on exactly why. This is worth listening to. :)

Mixed feelings

This one had it's moments. I had a difficult time falling for these characters. Too much angst for me. Most of the time when I did, it was with scenes or chapters that included or centered on Luke. Then another chapter would start and I found myself tuning out. Not sure why. I was very disappointed with the epilogue. Gave 4 stars...5 narration/3 story

A quick point about Mr. Webber. He does the best emotional scenes....emotional scenes with the voice cracking and also his kid voice is spot on! Incredible job voicing Luke!

Angst

This book was fairly long and drawn out compared to the other book “ Combust” from the series. On the other hand, the demons the main character, Grayson, faced were legitimately real and raw. However, it was frustrating how incredibly irrational he behaved in the way he handled them. My favorite character in the book was Grayson’s son, Luke. Luke gave the book the necessary comic relief throughout all the angst. I enjoyed the book and the ending but I think the push and pull, back and forth from the main characters was a bit exhausting at times.

The never ending boring story :(

Narration- I’m not a typical Grace Grant fan unless we’re talking about dirty bastard series- one of my faves. Her female voice sounds as if she has a frog in her throat and her male impression 🤐. After several weeks of starting and stopping this book, I started skipping her chapters. On the other hand, Zachary Webber did a fantastic job and is always a breeze to listen to. If he wasn't in this book I may not ever finished it.

Characters- I couldn’t connect with most of the characters

Storyline- Boring and a bit unbelievable.

Amazing!

Cockpit is the third book in the Everyday Heroes Series. Grayson and Sidney's story is beautifully written. I loved it! This is a great second chance to love, and single Dad story. Grayson and Sidney are great together. Luke, Grayson's son, is a beautiful character. Zachary Webber and Grace Grant did an outstanding job with the narration! Webber as Luke is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this story and Series.
