Yes! Why it's the perfect romance novel! Excitement, thrilling , loving and even some heartbreak

I loved the chemistry between Aimee and Tristian .. I loved how Tristan was empty inside but Aimee brought out the real him and all his darkness faded away

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite part was the day of the tattoos don't wanna spoil anything. Plus when Aimee finally gave in to her feelings.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!! You can't stop listening to it!

OMG! THIS BOOK IS SOOO GOOD!

Would you listen to Withering Hope again? Why?

Yes, I know I will listen to it again. I already read the book once and then I noticed it had an audible version and decided to listen to it this time. I just put the book down after a two day roller coaster ride of emotion - and I am sobbing....

What did you like best about this story?

What I like best about the story is that Aimee (sp?) does not just fall for Tristan immediately. They live through a lot together and she fights the attraction because she is engaged to be married. Once she realizes her feelings, she still fights it a little, but once she makes the decision - there is not a doubt in her mind that she has made the right one. There is no tug-of-war with Tristan's feelings.

Which scene was your favorite?

There were many great scenes, but I have to say my favorite was when they were both fighting off the jaguar. I had read the book before and still had to stop what I was doing to listen to how it all transpired.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was sobbing at the end - a complete mess.

Any additional comments?

If I could give this book six stars - I would have. Seriously, if you have someone in your life that you love more than anything - you will understand everything these two people feel throughout this book. Great book!

A very addictive story!

This has been on my TBR for a while so when the opportunity to listen to the audio version came up I was saying 'pick me please.' I didn't read the blurb or any reviews first so I went in with no expectations of the storyline. I am so glad that I did that because it made the experience that much more enjoyable for me.

Aimee is en route to her fiance in Brazil to prepare for their wedding day, when the private plane she is in crashes into the Amazon rainforest. Fortunately she is not alone in her survival, the pilot Tristan has also survived and luckily for both of them he is ex-military so has a lot of survival skills hidden up his sleeve.

As the days pass and the hope of being rescued dwindles, these two have to adapt to their new reality and gathering food, looking after their health and keeping themselves safe from predators becomes their new way of life. With nothing else to do they find themselves talking to each other about anything and everything. They get to know each other in a way that neither of them have done with anyone else in their lives.

The situations they find themselves in are, at times, life threatening and this only strengthens the bond between them with feelings of more than friendship growing between them. With the knowledge that they may never get rescued clouding their minds they turn for comfort in each other and this only deepens the connection between them. It also makes Aimee question her feelings towards her fiance and she struggles with the guilt and what she is now feeling for Tristan.

“Tristan slipped into my soul the way mist travels in the forest after the rain: unseen, unstoppable, and ubiquitous.” - Aimee

I had no idea how this was going to play out, what would happen if they were rescued and she had to face her fiance? What if they were never rescued, could they survive a life in the rain forest and if so, how would any future children survive? It is easy to read something and make up your mind about how you would react or deal with a situation if you were in their shoes but that reality is that unless you were living it yourself, there is no telling what you would do.

This was an exciting, thrilling and addictive read. I couldn't stop listening and finished it at 1.30am in the morning. A story that I will remember for a long time from now.

“I used to hate waking up every morning. Now I look forward to every day, even though we're stuck in this place. Because it means one more day with you.” - Tristan

Fantastic, compelling Read!

Fantastic and compelling!. Two people who aren't friends are stuck and must cooperate under grueling conditions to survive. Plenty of angst, adventure, romance, passion, and so worth a read! Other then the sugary and unnecessary epilogue, it would be even better. It was very reminiscenof another book l love called "On the Island" by Tracy Garvis Graves, which is is also a stranded on a deserted island unexpected romance, but with an older woman and younger man. Also, a highly recommended book, to read next!

Oh, my

Well, what can I say? This book has it all. The good, the bad, the ugly of a really beautiful love story filled with adventure. The narration was lovely and carried the story well.
If there are any more stories of this quality in her, oh, my, I have a new favorite author!!

Hello!!! Interest is OFFICIALLY PEAKED!!!

Withering Hope by Layla Hagen is the first book I've read of hers and I wasn't disappointed!

The whole setting was something different than the other romance novels I usually read but this book caught my eye when it stated that Aimee was on her way to spend time with her fiancé in Brazil when out of nowhere they have to crash land in the middle of the Amazon. (Hello!!! Interest is OFFICIALLY PEAKED!!!)

So I signed up for the Audio Tour for an ARC (Listening to Audio was a first for me) It was AWESOME!!

I loved the whole experience of reading this adventurous novel. It definitely kept me on my toes about what would happen next, when facing life in the rainforest of many creatures and fighting for survival. Every page held me captive and biting my nails in anticipation.

I also love the bond Tristan and Aimee form during their most trying times. That they find love for another in through fear and turmoil.

I was definitely blown away by this read and can't wait to read more novels by Layla Hagen! She did an amazing job. I was never lost or confused wondering what the heck is going on, but instead, I felt like I was apart of the adventure and end up lost in the book completely never wanting to put it down!

I recommend everyone to read this novel! You won't be disappointed!
