Just slow, easy and complete!

I rarely give out 5 stars. And, it's not that this book is epic. It just satisfies. What can I say? I'm totally loving this series. The characters are always interesting. And, I really liked Ben and his story of trying to fit in with his siblings he really didn't know. And, they way they just accepted him, drama free, like normal people. This family is just the sort of people you can relate to. For some reason I always get the feeling of a warm beach whenever I'm reading this series. Maybe it's the idea of Florida. Whatever it is, it's always fun and I can't wait for the next one.
And, Wendy Rich Stetson's voice is like a nice drink of rum and coke, or something else that just goes own smooth. Not sure why I have a drink reference, other than it just makes you want to relax, sit back, and enjoy whatever is going to happen. These books are easy listens that keep you engaged and entertained from beginning to end. I'm hooked.

Tammy Emerges At Last!

What made the experience of listening to Winning Ben the most enjoyable?

The more of this series, the better! It's a fun "world" the author has created, and I enjoy entering it more each time a new character is developed.

What did you like best about this story?

Getting to know Tammy, who until now has been fairly peripheral.

Have you listened to any of Wendy Rich Stetson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Wendy Rich Stetson keeps getting better with each book she narrates. Her voices really distinguish the characters, adding nuance and depth to the plot.

Great Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Cypress Corners series by JoMarie DeGioia and narrated by Wendy Rich Stetson. Ben Chapman is an architect and is building a new environmentally friendly neighborhood in Cypress Corners. He not only has a new job, though. He has siblings he didn't know about until three months ago. They welcome him, but he feels like he's on the outside looking in. Raised as an only child, he doesn't know how to do family. Tammy Donato's blend of cool and sexy attracts clients and closes deals at Cypress Corners. She comes from a big family and vows never to settle down. When she meets Ben, she can't deny her attraction.

The narrator Wendy Rich Stetson did a wonderful job, and was very easy to listen too. She did a great job with the different characters and their voices.

If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I can’t wait to read the next book by this author. Once I started listening to this book, I didn’t want to stop until the end.

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Cypress Corners is getting better and better

What did you love best about Winning Ben?

I liked the fact that a character that was secondary in the previous books was able to shine in this one. Tammy was always there but just out of reach of most of the stories. This time she is front and center and we are able to get a better 'look' at her. Bringing in a new Chapman sibling also made it interesting. For the first 3 books, it was just Rick, Jake and Cassie. Adding Ben changed the dynamics for the better.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Winning Ben?

When both Ben and Tammy finally saw 'the light'. You are just waiting for it to happen and when it does ... Yeah!

What does Wendy Rich Stetson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love when a series keeps the same narrator for all of the books. Ms. Stetson has a familiarity with these characters and they are more real with each book. Its like going home again with her narration.

Any additional comments?

I have really enjoyed the Cypress Creek series. I look forward to more stories by Ms. DeGioia. Ms. Stetson's narration is top notch and I look forward to listening to more of her work.

Not Looking For Forever

Would you listen to Winning Ben again? Why?

Yes I would! I will probably listen to the whole series again when the next book comes out for a refresher :) It was a really fun listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tammy because she has grown so much throughout the series :) Nothing about her can be considered shallow anymore.

Have you listened to any of Wendy Rich Stetson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Wendy Rich Stetson’s performance has gotten better with each book in this series! As the characters gain more depth and she gets more familiar with them and their relationships her portayals have become even more believable! I really enjoyed all the subtle nuances and subtext she conveys. I can't wait to listen to more of her performances :)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! I really enjoyed it and didn't want to stop listening... But you have to sleep sometime :)

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. The first book is Finding Harmony. The second book is Taming Jake. The third book is Loving Cassie. This is the fourth book. I can't wait to listen to the next one!

Ben never knew he had siblings. Until his mother's death he thought he was an only child. Now he has a bunch! Rick, Jake, and Cassie as well as their respective mates, all make him feel welcomed and part of a larger whole. He doesn't know what to do with that. Or his adorable nephew Nick who seems to adore him. Being sent to Cypress might be a blessing in disguise. After all, his siblings found a good life there! The beautiful and poised sales rep Tammy intrigues him in a way no other woman ever has. Will he ever get his creative spark back? How do you learn to let family in when you have never had much? Can he convince Tammy to give him a real shot? Or will she always push him away? Is he the kind of guy who now wants Forever?

Tammy has had enough of the Chapmans! Yes, she is good friends with all the old Chapman kids now... But this newest Chapman spells trouble for her in a big way! She can't and won't handle a relationship. Her life and her job are all that really matter. Marriage and breeding is her family way... And she is having none of it. She likes her life just the way it is. Will Ben change her mind? Or will she be able to resist him indefinitely? How can she let herself hope for Forever when he will just move on? Is there real hope for them?

***This chicklit romance series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy hopeful stories with plenty of steam and a dash of ecofriendly morals to go with the requisite HEA :)

DeGioia & Stetson Great Combination, Love Cypress!

Ben is the half brother that the crew in Cypress Corner that no one ever knew existed, until they were in their 20s. Ben doesn't really have a connection with these people, other then they all have the same father.

Ben is a successful architect in Boston until one day when his father comes into the office and announces that Ben needs to go to Cyprus.

So, Cyprus Corner is a "green" community, perfect for environmentalists, free spirits and those who want the most updated "green" house, community, etc. The "green" stuff usually annoys me, however DeGioia refers to it sparingly, which I appreciate.

Tammy is one of the most successful sales ladies for the Cypress community. She loves to work and thrives in it. It is her life.

When Ben arrives in Florida he sees the beautiful Tammy and they embark on their relationship journey.'s friends? Lovers? Friends with benefits? Yes, these topics and relationships are all spoken about..

I really enjoyed this series and thought it was over with the third book. I was so excited when I was told there would be a fourth book and *I was asked to listen to it in exchange for my review. Yes, please.

Wendy Rich Stetson's performance is believable, more than competent and ALWAYS a real pleasure to listen to. I've listened to several books performed by her and she always does an outstanding job.

Big Ben

What did you love best about Winning Ben?

I loved that his Brother and Sister just accepted him as there sibling. Most children in this situation would not want anything to do with him, but they not only accepted him but love him as if he was raised with them.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Winning Ben?

When Tammy realized she had a ravioli. I loved they way she just changed overnight.

Which scene was your favorite?

My Favorite scene was when Ben went to her house after being told about the ravioli. He was so happy <3. It was just the perfect ending to a amazing book

Any additional comments?

This is another amazing book in the Cypress Corners series. Wendy once again did a fabulous job performing each of the charters.

Great addition to this series!

My Musings

This is the fourth and final book in the Chapman family saga, but I don’t believe it will be the last book in the delightful Cypress Corners. There are still plenty of characters clamoring for Ms. DeGoia to give them their own story–I hope. I thoroughly enjoyed Ben and Tammy’s romance. Since I believe the book description clearly depicts this book, I’m not going to do a synopsis with this one.

I met Tammy as a secondary character in the other three books, and Ms. DeGoia introduced Ben at the end of the third book as the brother the other Chapman siblings never knew existed. I have anxiously awaited his story, and I was not disappointed.

I loved Ben’s character from the first page. For a guy practically ignored by his father for most of his life, he’s a fairly well-adjusted individual. I attribute that to the close relationship he obviously had with his mother before she died. It’s her death that has him questioning his life and wanting a change. His desire to get to know his siblings is commendable. I loved his pursuit of the skittish Tammy. The man refused to give up!

Tammy’s character is fairly complex. Never truly discovered why, but she is determined to remain single and wants nothing to do with a relationship, other than one based on physical needs, and even that scares her. She’s definitely a career woman and takes pride in her accomplishments. She’s loyal to her friends and loves her family, a likable character. I just would have liked to really figure out her deepest fears. For me, that didn’t happen. That’s the only reason I’m not giving this book 5 Gold Crowns.

Now, I listened to the audio version performed by Wendy Rich Stetson. As always, Ms. Stetson truly brings the characters to life for me. From the delightful southern-bred older lady, Lettie, with her scandalous comments, to the young receptionist at the sales center where Tammy and Ben work. She gives each character a distinct voice, making it easy to recognize who is speaking, even if the author didn’t use many dialogue tags.

The author does very well, by the way. That’s so important in an audio recording. Too many he said, she saids, become tedious to listen to, but that is definitely not the case with Ms. DeGoia’s books.

This is not the first performance I’ve listened to by Ms. Stetson and it will definitely not be the last. I love Ms. Stetson’s smooth voice and well-modulated tone a great deal. With each performance, her skill as a narrator shows amazing growth, and I’ve enjoyed seeing her brilliance only become brighter.

If you enjoy light-hearted, witty contemporary romances with plenty of heat between the sheets, then you will enjoy Winning Ben. I highly recommend this book, along with the other three books in this great series. Happy reading!

A story about another hunky Chapman man!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I've listened to all the other Cypress Corners books written by JoMarie DeGioia and have enjoyed them all. This is the story of Ben Chapman, who is half-brother to all the other Chapman siblings. They didn't know about each other till about a year ago and the family dynamics are a lot less stressful than you would think, except on Ben's part. They do all have one thing in common. They all despise their father.
His father has convinced Ben to go to work at Cypress Corners, where all of his other family members are. The first day on the job, Ben meets Tammy and sparks start flying. Tammy tries to hold back from him, but eventually they become involved. She still insists that they ARE NOT dating. Ben soon discovers that his second job is convincing Tammy that what they have matters and can be even more. Another great book by Ms. DeGioia and another great job by Wendy Rich Stetson!
