Publisher's summary

This standalone is best enjoyed when you don't read any reviews or spoilers. Going in blind is best. Trust me.

When my eyes are closed, the monster can't see me.

When I sing a song in my head, the monster can't hear me.

When I pretend my bedroom is a playground where I play hide-and-seek, the monster can't find me.

The darkness should frighten me.

I should worry I'll find more monsters...monsters scarier than him.

But I'm not afraid.

It's safe here.

When I'm inside of my head....

He. Can't. Ever. Touch. Me.

Warning: Whispers and the Roars is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. The abuse written in this story is graphic and not glossed over, which could be upsetting to some. This story is not for everyone. Proceed with caution.

This is a K Web must

I want to first express the wonderful job these actor did with their rendition of this amazing story, it brought a different view to this book which only enhanced my experience on it.

as far as the story I won't give anything away just a warning that this is a dark romance one that is worth getting on the roller coaster ride for because you see/feel true love shining thru.

Good book. Didn't love the narration

it started out a little slow. There were a few scenes in the end. The bones POV that I didn't love but overall a good read. Not the greatest narrators, normally I can get past bad narration after chapter 3 or so but these two bugged me up until the end.

Headtrip

What did you like best about Whispers and the Roars? What did you like least?

I couldn't finish this book - went maybe a quarter and got so confused in this mess of a story that I decided not to waste any more time. You might like this book but when they say it's dark - it's dark but more in a psychological way. The heroin is a survivor of child abuse of the worst kind who has developed split personalities ... if this is your cup of tea you'll probably enjoy this book.

Just...wow.

Like every other review, you have to just dive into this book. Can't really say much about it without spoiling it, what I will say is get ready for an emotional rollercoaster like you've never had.

Like a rollercoaster, the beginning of the book starts like you're going slowly uphill so stay with it until it reaches to the top. At first, I wasn't sure about the female narrator's voice but then as you go through the story, yes, it's perfect. Both narrators did a great job.

This story may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it was just one of the stories for me, that when it was over, I just had a sit in silence for a moment and just take it all in.

Beautiful story that seeps in your soul

If you could sum up Whispers and the Roars in three words, what would they be?

intense, love , shocking

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bones he made me laugh but made me feel his protectiveness over Katie he's a character I'll never forget. But I loved Neo too his lovefor Katie was so strong it makes any woman want the hope to feel that love.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite part is when Neo shows his family the book. When everything is laid out. It's heartbreaking but we see the love Neo has for everyone.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes close to the end what Bones did for Katie. It gutted me I cried so much I had to stop to compose myself. Plus the end made me laugh and love Bones even more.

Any additional comments?

This is my favorite audible I've ever listen to. The narrators where absolutely perfect and blew me away. They made you feel every character like I was listening to a movie.

*No Spoiler Review*

Anyone who wants to get lost in a story should read or listen to this book. But heed the advice of so many before you….go into it blind. All of your questions will be answered as the story blooms and grows about halfway thru. Although, it’s Sometimes emotionally difficult to listen; it’s ultimately a beautiful mix of self love and the love of another human that emerges from ashes.

Not For Me

This was a DNF for me, which breaks my heart because I love so many of K Webster's other books, but this was…no. I hate going into books blind, but I did for this one because, again, I've loved every other K Webster novel I've read, and everyone said to do it with this book. I was a little skeptical as I started reading because I'm used to her books having an element of dark/taboo about them, and this one just seemed to be about a normal man moving back to his hometown after being away at school and getting back together with his high school girlfriend, which is like…okay. Fine, but nothing earth-shattering. Then when I got to the "big reveal," I immediately lost interest in the story and the characters and stopped reading right away. That was just not something I was willing to invest any more time exploring and unpacking. It's not worthy of being treated like fort knox, in my opinion. All the secrecy surrounding what this book is about actually feels like it kind of ruined it for me.
