Publisher's summary

Hi, I'm Alexis Delaney. I'm your average 17-year-old girl. Except I can see the dead. And talk to the dead and help them move on. So...okay, I'm not your average 17-year-old girl. Right now, the Veil is shut off, and the Way is closed. Which means the dead can't move on, so, they are camping out on my lawn. I'm trying to open the Way, juggle school and, well, deal with my feelings for two of my best friends.

If that isn't enough, notes have been showing up in my locker since I got back from Christmas vacation. Things are getting creepier as time goes on. He's actually starting to scare me, to be honest. But with the guys, I'll be fine. They've got my back. No one is crazy enough to take on Zeke. Right?

Series seemed promising

I liked the first book in this series. A couple of things bothered me, but teens are more advanced than 20 years ago. I was able to overlook some of the overt sensuality.
Book 2 was disappointing. Lexi looks pretty foolish, constantly forgetting her protective charms, even more than in the first book.
And the touchy feely escalates to the point where Lexi is cuddling in bed with her male friends on a rotating basis so she can sleep. Huh?
And her uncle is okay with it? Not only does she cuddle, but is awaken on a couple occasions by her male friends "morning wood"! It made the chest caressing seem normal.
Lexi is thrown over her male friends shoulders and is spanked on one occasion, and needed to be undressed by a couple of the boys after a snowball fight. I can't count how many times she's sitting between her male friend legs, while thinking of how hot they are.
If this is normal teenage behavior now, what do they consider porn?

Bait and switch

This book had a sprinkle of paranormal and a huge chunk of stalker. “IMO” I would like to see more focus on the veil, Lexi becoming more powerful, and less of a pentagon. That’s just really not ok. Five guys with a really strong bond for years befriend a young woman and now she’s crushing on all of them? Have Lexi keep that crap to herself. I don’t know what to say about Zeke.

My Audio book review

This book is amazing. It has the structure that draws you in. I had it finished within two days!! There is no cliffhanger, and I highly reccommend you read it.

once you start the series you have to finish it

lexy has had a rough time adjusting to the things she's experienced in her life. she gets to a new town and a new school to discover she's found some amazing friends for the 1dt time. with support from her uncle and this amazing group of friends she has been able to withstand many hardships. the interaction between each character keeps you drawn to the story. there are some slow moments but overall it's a great read.

Loved it

I hope there will be another book on the way. I want to now what happens between red and zeke. And the others
But why did it have end on a cliff hanger.
I enjoy the narrators different voices for each of the boys. And I do enjoy hearing from the boys side of view as well.
Can wait for the next book to come out
