Publisher's summary

Miss Jane Wilkinson couldn't be more delighted when her two best friends marry, creating a much-desired vacancy at the Spinster House. For the first time in her 28 years, Jane can be free of her annoying older brother and enjoy complete solitude - with the exception of the Spinster House cat, Poppy. If only Jane's unruly thoughts didn't keep drifting to handsome Alex, Earl of Evans, in the most un-spinsterlike ways....

Though jilted once, Alex has always intended to marry and raise a family. Now that his two closest friends have tied the knot, he is more determined than ever to find a wife. If only it wasn't the intriguing Miss Jane Wilkinson that his heart - as well as the rest of him - desired. Not only does she appear uninterested in marriage, it's clear she's the managing sort. And yet, despite Alex's fiercely independent spirit, the idea of being managed by her is quite appealing. Now if he can only convince her to give up her beloved Spinster House in favor of a far more pleasurable home - in his arms....

Contains mature themes.

What is with the Irish accent on the hero?

I usually love Beverly A Crick's narration but from the beginning, the hero's Irish accent distracted me. Cute story though.

Hey story where nothing happens

Sometimes you wonder how the story gets published. The Earl is kind generous responsible not to mention handsome rich and has a title but Jane just doesn’t want to marry him. No good reason as ever did and why she wouldn’t want to marry a man like that other than that she doesn’t want the responsibility of being a countess makes no sense. When Deorro speaks he has a strange just ask and I’ve never heard sort of like a German accent can’t really tell. Don’t waste your time on this book.

Dreadful accent & a time killer!

Beverly A Crick is one of my least favorite narrators. In all three books of this series, she outdoes her normally sub-par performance with an abominable attempt at an (Irish?) accent. The Earl’s accent was bothersome in the first two books. As he is the main character of this book listening becomes a real chore. Ms Crick makes the character sound like he’s from India while giving none of his siblings or other family members any discernible accent.
Absolutely dreadful!
This trilogy is a real waste of time - Three books which should have only been one. The entire time I was listening, I kept thinking the author was trying to meet some quota for her publisher. I will never read another book by this author.
