Publisher's summary

The spectacular Pembroke Palace Series continues with a tale of passion and amnesia…

Lady Chelsea Campion is shocked to stumble upon a naked man swept onto the beach not far from her home on the Channel Islands. Shipwrecked, obviously…but when the handsome stranger awakens, he is unable to remember anything of his life before that moment.

Chelsea soon embarks upon a secret and scandalous plot to seduce him while he is captive in her home, for she needs a child to secure her family's future, and this man-clearly of noble blood-is perfect for the task. But will it be possible to keep such a secret from him when her heart becomes engaged, and soon nothing matters but the pleasure and passion she feels each night in his arms? And what will occur when he remembers where he came from? Will his family come looking for him, and if they do, will her heart survive the loss of the greatest love she's ever known?

Odd ending

Maybe it was because I liked the story so much, but I feel the ending was rushed. It didn't wrap up things nicely. Haha I'm being picky. I'm really loving this series.

Predictable

Would you listen to When a Stranger Loves Me again? Why?

I would not listen to it again. The story was predictable and a little sappy in places. Nothing to bring up any strong emotions , not thought provoking but overall it was enjoyable
enough :)

Forgetting Can Make A Remember Who He Is.....

I was so excited to hear Blake Sinclair's story. As with all the other Sinclair siblings, he too has something in his past that creates issues he deals with...but poor Blake has an extra little something to deal with! But there is the beautiful, feisty Chelsea to get him through it all.

This book started wonderfully. I loved Blake from the previous books and was so glad it was his turn to fall in love. I was immediately enthralled and didn't want to hit pause....then it took an odd turn. The plot was kind of strange and I felt really uneasy about how Chelsea was using "Jack" and the fact that her family was encouraging her. I really hated the lies and wanted them to end so bad because I loved Chelsea and Jack as a couple. But the book would be boring without any bumps in the road.....and ride is so worth it!

The Earl is so hilarious. ..he gets funnier with each book. He just struck me as extra funny in this book. MacLean just is a great writer of dialogue and shines at character development.

Rosalyn Landor is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G as always! Listen to the whole series....you will be glad you did!

Pretty good

A bit slow and overly chatty. It was frustrating the way Blake's family treated him. Got tired hearing about his need to marry instead of concern for his recovery. Chelsea's mother was a bit over the top harridan. Chelsea's brother should be horse whipped.

It Kept Me Awake All Night

Would you listen to When a Stranger Loves Me again? Why?

It's a touching love story, well written and excellently performed by Rosalyn Landor. I can see myself listening to it again someday.

What did you like best about this story?

It's uniqueness; it's not a cookie cutter book. The characters were so well portrayed I was drawn into the story and made to feel as if I knew the families involved personally. Although fiction , it had a touch of realism.

What does Rosalyn Landor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Through her passionate narration the characters come to life. She helps the listener "see" each character's personality, discern their feelings and their plight in life.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A tale of passion, amnesia and betrayal.

Any additional comments?

I could not stop listening; I listened all night. The mystery of the naked, wounded man who washed ashore not knowing who he is or how he got there kept me engrossed. Wanting to know how the family that saved his life and plotted to use him for their selfish gains turned out.

Interesting and captivating

Maclean takes scandal, love, and devotion to intricate levels. The love scenes are described tastefully leading one to believe that they are a part of it all!

Least favourite.....

I understand authors quest for originality and attempt to avoid cookie cutter plot but it was just too “original” for me....
It started our good but quickly went downhill when Chelsea and her brother with his wife decided to use “Jack” to conceive the child with Chelsea and pass it as their own in order to secure the Earldom.
The fact that they openly discuss it and encourage her in her lunacy is disturbing.. To put it plainly, if it was a lady washed up on a beach and used in the same manner it would not be categorised as romance but as gothic horror....

On the positive, the writing is still engaging and performance is outstanding.
