After losing her parents in a brutal attack by a monster straight out of her nightmares, Gwendolyn Preston tries to pick up the shattered pieces of her life. Along with her best friend, she moves to a small fishing village on the coast of Maine to find a new life away from the nightmares that haunt her. Just when she believes her life could go back to normal, the deliciously dark and handsome Markus Sullivan disrupts her hopes to grieve in peace.
Markus drew the short straw when it came to being the liaison between his father, Ares--god of war--and his brothers. When he discovers that the earthbound demigods, known as the descendants, have banded together to start another rebellion against the gods, it becomes his number -ne priority to stop them.
That is until he meets Gwen, the granddaughter of Aphrodite and the next target of the descendants. Together their path is rife with passion and danger. It might take more than the son of war to win this battle...Gwen herself.

I love dragon books, especially when there’s another story after this one. So, I look forward to reading/listening to Ty’s story after finishing this one about Marcus, and Aphrodite’s granddaughter Gwen, and Ares the brothers’ father. I won’t be going further than Ty’s story because the 3rd one only has 80 pages and that’s really not worth bothering with. IMO. I mean, this book had 250 pages. Ty’s story has 240 pages, but Zavier only has 80?
And, of course, the evil brother Garrick who killed Gwen’s parents 14 years earlier. Now on the run she ends up neighbors with the dragons and they are tasked with protecting Gwen and the Goddess Nyx’s daughter Elle, Gwen’s BFF. Needless to say, Gwen is the mate to Marcus and they are a wonderful twosome. Absolutely no angst between them, which I loved.
Overall, it really was a good book: Dragons, Gods, Goddesses, Nymphs, and a Cyclops or two? What more do you want.
There was explicit sex in this AND the word pu**y, which I find disgusting and such a dirty word, was used. I know a lot of you just love that word but not me. However, since it was only used 3 times I will go ahead and read Ty’s story, and hope it's not used more than that, but I will not be reading more from this author. Sorry!
There was swearing and the F-bomb was used 25 times.
As to the narrator: Michael Ferraiuolo is a good reader. He laughed out loud when it was called for, and growled when the dragons did that, too. The women sounded like women and Marcus’s voice was sooo sexy it was unbelievable.

I received this book for and honest review and to be honest I wasn't really sure if I was going to like it. The reason is because I've never read a book with dragon shapeshifters but I went in with an open mind and I'm glad I did. I will definitely be reading more of these books in the future. If you like Paranormal then this is a must read bc I think you will really enjoy it.
