Publisher's Summary

The Season has only just begun, but already Ambrose Benson Earl of Hawthorne is bored. That is, until his brother offers him a challenge. Something worthy of his particular talents. The object: The girl hiding behind the potted plants, the one in the horrible dress. The goal: Turn her into the envy of the town. A lady suitable for a duke. But there is just something about the lady. In spite of all her social misgivings, something inexplicably draws him in, making him want to waltz with the wallflower.

Cute story, irritating narration!

This was a very cute story and the time flew by.

NARRATOR; Awful! Truly Awful! Stilted with speed issues and MAJOR pronunciation issues (issues = worse than errors!) bad accents, lacking volume control... Just not good!!! The one plus is the lack of wet mouthy sounds.

CREDITWORTHY : #1 it costs less than a credit does. #2 it's only part of the story as all in this series could have been rolled easily into one.
#3 only if you can stand the narrative.

HEAT FACTOR: Ice water.

characters who act bizarrely, read by a robot

Would you try another book from Rachel van Dyken and Leah Sanders and/or Christine Blackburn?

After this bizarre experience, no way! The characters had no discernible motivations, duels and conflicts came out of nowhere and where unmotivated, and the resolution was very weak. no, would not read anything by these two authors again.

Would you ever listen to anything by Rachel van Dyken and Leah Sanders again?

as above: no.

Would you be willing to try another one of Christine Blackburn’s performances?

also, no! I am sorry to say this, but she sounds like a robot! Siri would read this better than she did!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

anger with myself that I didn't trust the other poor reviews. sadness that I spent the time and money. disappointment with the weak characters, the unconvincing plot, and the very poor reading.

Any additional comments?

The audiobook is actually even shorter than mentioned, in the end parts from the beginning just repeat.
