Publisher's summary

Arizona, 1910
Dear Diary, It will take more than threats - and one overbearing rancher - to drive me away from my rightful property...When I inherited this isolated land near the Mexican border, I knew running it would be difficult and dangerous - very different from my privileged life in Louisiana, where I was the genteel Miss Trilby Lang. But I certainly didn't expect that my neighbor, Thorn Vance, would be challenging me at every turn. Or that his brusque, ruggedly appealing ways would prove a dangerous temptation that I'm finding harder and harder to resist. Now, with trouble sweeping the territory, I need his help. But how much will I risk putting myself in the hands of a man who's used to getting exactly what he wants?

Interesting history but that was it

I will remember the name of this narrator. It was awful. I think all the grunts, groans, sighs etc from the narrator might have ruined what little story there was, worth listening to, but I can't be sure. Don't get me wrong. The voice was fine. It was the sound effects that made me want to lose it.
It was an interesting history of The Mexican revolution and what it must have been like to live at that point in history.

Interesting story but too much contrived angst

Hero and heroine don’t communicate much but go out of their way to find ways to be unhappy and wallow in their agony. I actually enjoyed secondary romances in this story as it slightly detracted from main characters misunderstandings and mistrusts.

What a pleasure to listen to the reader!

I was very surprised that this book was such
a wonderful & enlightening book. I have listened to & read Diana Palmer's books, however, the story, along with the reader,
was one of her better books. A lot of history.
Time well spent!
