Started off bad but ended ok.

I almost didn't finish but I kept with it. Grace got on my nerves. I got tired of hearing her talk down about her plus size body. No confidence, low self esteem and wimpy. She let every one push her around. I'm on the fence about Noah. I liked how when he did notice her the weight, her hair or her frumpy clothes didn't matter. But he was also kind of a bully.

The story was just ok. I'll forget about it by tomorrow. Mr. Frangione was excellent as usual. He's one of my favorite narrators. If the story is bad at least hearing his voice is enjoyable.

I love Lori Foster but this book fell flat. Sorry Lori. it was predictable and the story was flat.

Sexy and Sweet

Erotic love story featuring a plus size woman who doesn’t feel very attractive and a very strong willed male. There’s a bit of a controlling aspect to the relationship but it’s still a good story.

good!

You can tell that this was written over 15 years ago (some word and clothing choices), but it's still one of my favorites! It's always nice having a shy girl gain confidence, and there were parts that I literally laughed out loud. I have read and reread this book several times, and I will continue to do so.

An All Time Favorite!

love, love love Lori. I've read this book twice and this is my first time listening to it. I expect I'll be doing it again , it's one of her best book, in my opinion. Then again, all her books are pretty spectacular!

It’s ok

It’s a good enough story if you’re searching for something steamy with a happily every after. I found that Noah was a bit of an entitled jerk and I found myself wishing Grace would have more of a backbone at times. But, as I said, happily ever after.

I loved this audiobook. I have read all of Lori Foster's books. I am glad that I could listen to it. I loved listening to Jim Frangione. His voice is very smooth. I now have to get the one on Ben's book. J....

Too much temptation

I loved this book! Noah was sexy, strong, honorable and protective. Grace was self conscious of her appearance, yet confident of her job. I found Kara very annoying for throwing Noah under the bus, after he gave her a chance to get out of the way while he made the announcement, and spineless for not fighting for her true love. Agatha was the typical old, rich, powerful woman who thought she had the upper hand and didn't expect Noah to call her bluff.

The narrator was wonderful. I will definitely look for more of his narrations.

Now, i remember

Now I remember why I haven't gone through and listened to more of this author's books. They seem to have something with the writing that sits strangely. This one has an odd mix of ideas about reputation, even if it was written more than 10 yrs ago. An engagement being called off would not ruin a woman, even with these circumstances. Embarrassment, yes, but not "RUIN" like something from an historical novel.
I mostly enjoyed it, that has more to do with the narrator.

What a Spineless Wimp

It was incredibly painful listening as Grace, a pathetically spineless wimp, allowed both Noah and his grandmother Agatha to bully her relentlessly.

Sadly, Grace had ZERO self-respect or personal boundaries, believing she was unattractive and unlovable. Since Grace willingly worked for a woman who regularly degraded and humiliated her, it was not surprising that she permitted Noah to abuse her too.

Noah was the typical self-absorbed alpha jerk, who categorized women as either worthless whores or refined ladies. Therefore any woman who enjoyed sex was a slut, making it acceptable for him to punish them with domination and cruelty.

Rather than romantic or erotic, the sex scenes were cold and calculating, with Grace demeaning herself without a thought to her physical safety or emotional health. Noah was incapable of affection or empathy, believing the world revolved around his cock.

It's amazing that a female author would promote such low opinion of her own gender. Although well written, there was nothing romantic, erotic or entertaining in this misogynistic novel.
