Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands returns to the Highlands of Scotland in her hottest new historical romance yet!

Highlander Campbell Sinclair is no stranger to battle, so when he sees a lad attacked by bandits, he jumps into the fray. He didn't count on being stabbed. Grateful to the boy for nursing him back to health, Cam offers to accompany Jo safely to his destination. But when he accidentally comes across the lad bathing in the river, Cam discovers that Jo is actually Joan...with the most sinful of curves.

Joan promised her mother that she would deliver a scroll to the clan MacKay. But traveling alone is dangerous, even disguised as a boy. When a Scottish warrior lends his aid, she is more than relieved...until he surprises her with lingering kisses and caresses that prove her disguise hasn't fooled him. As their passion ignites, will the secrets of the scroll force a wedding...and lead to a love she's never known?

Love the Narrator

Cam and his Clan are long standing allies of the MacKay clan, and offers to escort "the boy" there.
When Cam discovers Jo is really Joan, the mayhem begins.

A diamond in the rough

This story was awesome. I didn't expect it to be so good. It was a page turn all the way until the end, and leave it to Lynsay sands to add some murder mayham in the mix! Well worth the credit!

I think I like the book more for the narrator

I liked the book. Linsay Sands is a good writer. it had good plot twists. I never really saw the villain till it was too late. Though she was my second choice. I love love loved the narrator. I could listen to him read anything. I will be listening to the book many times just to hear his voice.

The narrator is exceptional!!

While the storyline is good, this book should be purchased for the voice of the narrator alone! A genuine Scottish accent, and it was so well spoken. He could read a dictionary and make it fascinating.

Just ok

Narration hurts this story. It isn't horrible but it also isn't good. He reads in a very stilted manner and the female voices are fairly bad. But I did love the story so either persevere or switch to the Kindle version.

Thank God, it was a sweet story!

All in all it was a great story between Cam and J. Although I worried for the female protagonists a lot she seemed rather severely insecure but you’ll know why once you get into the story a bit more. Had its moments of humor and it was greatly appreciated. The narrator did a great job it’s been awhile since I’ve heard such a great Scottish accent or a Scottish man pretending to be a maiden. One of my favorite lines so far was “You interfering B!” Hope you’ll like it too.

Good story excellent narrator

The narrator makes the story come alive for me. Keiran Elliott did just that for me. His voice drew me in and kept me. Excellent.

Good story but was disturbed

Good story in general with fabulous narration. I was upset when Cam took her innocence. He was too pushy and should not have taken her by surprise. Not crazy about all the sex prose either- not germane to the story and seemed superfluous. Otherwise, a nice story.
