Publisher's summary

Christmas in a Cornish seaside town, bright lights, and a hot new romance to ward off the winter storms...what could be finer? But Gideon and Lee's first festive season together is shockingly interrupted when Lee tries to rid a client's home of a malevolent presence. The ritual goes wrong, and in its aftermath Lee is strangely altered.

As well as dealing with the changes in his lover, Gideon has a sinister thread to follow, linking the haunted house with disappearances among the homeless people of Falmouth. Can love withstand what looks like a case of possession?

As the darkest night of the year comes down, Gideon finds himself locked in a battle to restore his lover's soul.

Love and Intrigue

Creepy spirits and standing stones, coupled with love and acceptance from family and neighbors. not to mention an awesome dog character. I love this little series much more than expected.

A wonderful series

This book is the second in the Tyack and Frayne series. each book is, by turns, spooky, tender, sexy, funny, mysterious. This one was especially creepy, but also had a little cameo appearance of the two main characters from Fox's The Salisbury Key. The bond between Tyack and Frayne is an evolving one, and the arc of this relationship across the series is such a deep pleasure to read---and to hear! Excellent performance by Tim Gilbert.

More coherent than the previous one

Despite having misgivings about the first book in this series being a pile of chaos, I’m listening because I loved some of the author’s other books, this one was short, and the title “tinsel fish” amused me. It was pretty good. I’ve been trained by usual ghostly fiction offerings to have expected something different causing poltergeist-like problems in this one. The fresh take was interesting & the guys seem good for each other (to say nothing of the dog). I think I’ll keep on with the series.

Too short, but highly recommended

It Christmas time in Dark and Gideon decides that he's earned a vacation. And he wants to spend it with Lee, on the Island, who's just arrived home from recording a television show. But first they have to do one more show in town. Only it doesn't go quite as planned and soon the couple is pulled into trouble in form of a haunted house, that is very reluctant to let Lee out of its clutches.

The relationship between Gideon and Lee is developing nicely. You can feel that there is a strong connection between them, trust, and friendship. And you can feel it maturing into something more, deeper and long lasting.

This book didn't have that same creepy feeling like the first one did, there was more suspense layered in. It does have it fair share of hauntings though. And the atmosphere that we loved from the first book is still present here. It will draw you in, and if you are so inclined, you might want to hide out under the covers when strangers knock on your door. You never know who or what seeks entrance.

Tim Gilbert did a good job narrating this book as well, I have to say he's really nailed the voices of both Gideon and Lee to really reflect their personalities as well as the feel of the book(s).

Again, I would've loved to have this book as a full length novel. I feel like there's just soo much to explore, both plot-wise and with the characters. I do believe this series really do have the potential to turn into a serious addiction.

And. if you haven't guessed it already; I am going to leave you now and go pick up the next book. I need to know more.
