Publisher's Summary

When love and duty collide, can anything survive?
Only two things drive the formidable Lord Comron Van Laven: his insatiable hunger for power and his strong sense of duty to his royal house. In a bid to elevate his family's position, he agrees to a loveless marriage to a wealthy heiress he loathes. A few weeks before the wedding, he takes a fateful business trip that leaves him marooned and lying at death's door, at the mercy of a vile enemy.
His enemy does the unexpected: She saves so many ways. As a result of this astonishing act of compassion, the two former enemies forge a powerful bond that blossoms into a passionate flame. Now Comron faces a life-altering decision - honor his family by going through with the loveless marriage or defy them all to pursue his true heart's desire.
But Comron soon discovers that his lady love has her own dark secrets that threaten to shatter their lives. Once again love and duty clash violently as he's forced to make the ultimate decision that could destroy them all.
