Publisher's summary

Cowboy Jace Mills has suffered fewer injuries from bucking bulls than he has from his ex-girlfriend. Following his best friend Tucker's advice, Jace is convinced it's time to move on. But with his ex's tight rein on him, easier said than done. Tara Jenkins learned a lot in her sports medicine courses, but not how to fix her broken heart. So when her brother Tucker suggests using her skills on the rodeo, it gives her the perfect opportunity to ride off into the sunset - or at least run away. Only problem is, Jace and Tara have had a hate-hate relationship for over a decade, putting up with each other for Tucker's sake. With their long history as frenemies, they know sparks will fly, they just never expect them to flare into scorching passion...

Wonderful story‼️

I love Cat's books and this one is one of the best. Jace and Tara are night and day but opposites do attract. The narration was nice.

Three Weeks With a Bull Rider - Jase and Tara

Loved, loved, loved this story! Jase and Tara knew each other from childhood and just barely tolerated each other , but three weeks together changed them and their perceptions! Cat Johnson has written a spell bindi ding story. Loved it!

Loved the series, but this one was too raunchy

Would you ever listen to anything by Cat Johnson again?

Of course I think she is a really good author

What would have made this romance irresistible?

I felt the whole story was "off". I kept listening, hoping it would get better. The first two in the series had really good twists and turns, some very unexpected...this story I felt was unbelievable and uninspired. The sex scenes were also too raunchy...with the little baby voice of Tara..it was kind of sickening to listen to her initiating sex acts such as she did.

I was laughing out loud literally!

I have listened to all three of these books and this one by far was my favorite. When The part about the wife’s little secret comes up I was literally laughing out loud! I suggest this book for a good laugh...it’s worth the time!

So so

I enjoyed the story but the narration left a great deal to be desired. The narrator spent too much effort pronouncing words and enough reading the story.

Better than expected

After meeting Tara in the second book, I wasn’t a big fan of her. It took until half way through the book before I started to like her character. I also had similar feelings about Jace. Both of them seemed selfish, childish, and whiny. Tara kept saying horrible things about Emma because in her world Emma stole Logan from her. Jace has a similar opinion about Logan. He felt that Logan stole Emma from him. It was nice to see the changes in them while they are on the road together. Both of them finally grow up.

The story is bad but...

When I read the first two books in the series the narrator’s voice was annoying, but nothing like it was in this book. She dragged out words, adding syllables and mispronouncing too many words to be an acceptable narrator.

Unfortunately, I’m too anal to not finish the series or I’d have stopped listening in chapter 1.

Narrator fine, story with some serious drawbacks.

I have enjoyed many of this writer's books but this one made me uncomfortable. First of all, I didn't care for Tara in the previous stories and had reservations about Jace. I didn't see much improvement in Tara in this publication. Her behavior seemed so juvenile that she came across more like an 11 to 13 than 22 year old to me. I'm all for feistiness in a female but this characterization seemed mostly about immaturity.

UnfortUnately, the last issue I had with the book is more serious. I felt Tara pushed herself too far on Jace. I like sexual freedom and sexual confidence in a woman but this is an important point about CONSENT. In several scenes, Jace says "NO" numerous times and Tara keeps on being physically aggressive. If the genders were flipped in this scenario, many people should and would be calling foul. Tara says she "knows" Jace wants her because he is hard but it could just be because she was sitting on him rubbing hard even though he has implicitly told her no. As a health care provider, I can verify the it is a PHYSIOLOGICAL response for a man to get hard or a woman wet when physically stimulated but that doesn't necessarily mean they are giving their consent to engage in sex with that person. I liken it to the example that the stomach will pump out hydrochloric acid and salivation begins when the hungry person smells food even if they know the meal is poisoned and they don't want to eat that particular offering. Many men harden to various degrees when I have had to perform an urinary catherization while they are lucid. I know they are not thinking of sex during that time or of engaging in sex with me specifically even though I am touching their penis. While both Jace and Tara are of consenting age, I was not comfortable with how the sex in this story evolved especially as a mother of a young adult man.

As I wrote earlier, I usually enjoy this author's works and this story may not bother other readers. However, I think my viewpoint is worth consideration and at any rate, I am entitled to my opinion. I hope to continue to find the writer's further tales worth reading for light entertainment as I have in some of her other publications.

Not good...not bad...

Any additional comments?

If you like the stories about "alfa" man , this one is not for you!
Jace was still way too hung up on his ex. Tara was just as creepy as she was in Logan's book. Her fascination with Logan was psychotic and in this book she transferred that to Jace. Not that he minded in the end, but still. Oddly, they worked as a couple to balance each other out
