really enjoyed listening to the story. The anticipation for the ending grew as the story went along.

This was a delightful sweet romance of starting over from rock bottom with two lovely characters that started out with nothing and didn’t want anything to do with each other but finding away to work together bring their worlds to an even kilter.

Aurora aka Rory just wants to be alone she rents The River Ranch house to have her baby along with her dog. She licking her wounds from an ex who left her for anther women when he found out she was pregnant. I really liked this character she was sweet, kind and has a way with animals. Her dog is raised to comfort those who need comfort. It was very touching watching him comfort Storm you could picture it in your mind. Rory is just the sweetest, kindest, caring person she just wants to help and gives so much of herself. She lets her fears show but they do not stop her from getting the job done. She is strong but weak in ways. When it counts you can always count on her.

Carson is strong but when it comes to horses they are his weakness. He will do what needs to be done to make sure the wild mustang lives to see another day. He is about to lose the ranch due to his father’s will stating he has to run it as a ranch or get married. He wants neither no way no how will his father win this battle. The last thing he needs is a woman and her dog but it looks like that is what he is getting and dang if she isn’t pregnant to boot. I adore Carson it would have been easy to find a wife and end the marriage in a few months. He went out of his way to find away to keep the ranch without taking the easy way.

Joanna Patrick did a good job on narrating with just a few small issues. She did change her voice for one or two characters but all the rest sounded the same. It did not take away from the reading at all. She stumbled a few times but all in all she really did a good job. I would listen to more of her narration. It was easy to picture in your mind things she talked about she did bring things more to life than if you had read it.

I loved how the author brought the animals into the story giving a story inside a story. Storm had her own little story going on. Seeing her set free to run with the other horse was a wonderful feeling. I can’t remember what the dogs name was but it was wonderful how she helped others with learning disabilities. The author bought in some touching subjects and did a wonderful job explaining how dogs help make life easier for families. I am an animal lover two of my favorites are dogs and horses so this was a very touching emotional read for me.

To me both Carson and Rory are hero’s in what they are doing to help the animals and the people to make this a better place. I love the slow but sure why they interacted with each other. How they slowly fell in love, how Rory was willing to help even knowing she would have to walk away when she did not want to. I enjoyed the tension between these two and the humor, how they took care of each other and helped where they needed to.

The author and narrator gave us a wonderful told story which keeps the reader interested. I did not want to put this book down I just had to find out how it would all play out. I love Ms. Snopek writing style how she brings a story together. It was a nice refreshing read about two people make the best with what they have by turning it around to what they need and doing it together to make a wonderful team. I can’t wait to read more of this authors stories which give you a feeling of peace and leave you with a big smile on your face.
