Publisher's summary

Lucia Vega is on a winning streak. Her book, Throw Away the Key, has taken the country by storm, and now, it's being made into a movie. After years of chasing it, she can finally taste freedom.

Reece Carras is one of the most powerful men in Hollywood. Handsome, rich, and generous, he's everything girls like her aren't supposed to dream of. But dream she does. And in his strong arms, she finds a freedom she never even knew existed.

Falling in love was the easy part. Cruel twists of fate and torn loyalties will make staying together seem impossible. Sacrifices will have to be made. And they will learn that blood may be thicker than water, but nothing is more powerful than two hearts that beat for each other.

Contains mature themes.

Gut wrenching and soulful

I always wanted to read this book but couldn’t find the time and so I am thrilled to get the audiobook and boy am I wretched. Dylan’s prose combined with the narrator’s voices is lyrical and gut wrenching. I can hear her fear and her anxiety. The love that they share is so beautifully crafted and I know I will definitely listen to this for many times to come.

Loving and Poignant

Dylan Allen is a new author to me, and this book ensures that she will be on my one click from now on. The story line is original, and is one many would not take on. Lucia Vega is an author who has a best seller out. Being sought after for the screenplay rights, she is approached by Reece Carras and agrees to have her book brought to the big screen. The attraction is immediate, but can they act on it? Allen writes this story with raw honesty and emotion of a couple that faces so many obstacles, it's hard to know if they will be able to find their happiness. The two come from different backgrounds and it seems that no answer will help resolve their problems. Lucia is written with strength and passion, and will do anything to keep her story true. Reece is unwavering in his support, and knows himself and what he wants. The story flows with controversy, heartbreak, impossible decisions and an unbreakable love like no other.

A story like this needs a team of narrators that will make you feel. Lacy Laurel and Sean Crisden do just that. From the minute the book starts, every emotion is invoked and carries through the very end. Each of their performances is genuine and passionate, just what this novel needs, a wonderful narration.

Beautiful & Poignant Love Story!

Thicker Than Water is a complete standalone told in dual pov with a guaranteed happily ever after.
Oh Golly Gosh! Just Brilliant! Absolutely loved it! The writing was flawless and flowing through to the end. Lucia and Reece are compelling, dynamic characters. Supporting character's play a instrumental role & accentuate the narrative. The narrative is so nonpareil and realistic. I'm in a place that my zeal's are all over right now. This author wrote a raw, detailed, sovereign, paramount, and beautifully portrayed love tale that is pure & brings light to the subject of immigration and the journey that follows to fight for rights. A poignant love story entwined with hardships & political policies.

Lacy Laurel and Sean Crisden narration brought out the character's passions in a way that exhuberates jubilate. Tone and pace flows through smoothly and flawlessly.

What a story!!

This is not my 1st Dylan Allen book and it definitely won't be my last. I love her writing style and the way she uses real people issues, not "typical romance" angst. Can't wait to get my hands on more from Dylan.

An unexpected gem

While this book is a romance novel, it's also so much more.

The story of immigration and the 'dreamer' whose status effects every aspect of her life. Falling in love with a citizen has its own set of challenges especially when he is famous and her story is about to be as well.

Great and well developed main characters. This book definitely hits on some harder topics while staying true to ut

beautiful

the story is truly beautiful, it shows all the struggle, the love, the weakness and the strength of both Reed and Lucia. His love for her and her internal battle to love him completely and telling the truth she was hiding. The book and the movie she filmed is so realistic and so tragic i can almost see this becoming a real movie. The devastation with realization who is who and the epic ending. Well i could go on and on but you better go and listen for yourself.
The only down side of this books in my opinions are narrators with whom i struggled in the beginning but listened to the end because of the beautiful story that this was. Would definitely recommend someone else to read this beauty.

Gripping, beautiful, and brilliant!

Dylan Allen is a new-to-me author. After reading this book, it certainly won't be my last from her. Thicker Than Water is an incredible story, one that took on a subject matter that is so prevalent in today's society. It is beautifully written and held so much emotion. I connected right from the get go. Fate brought author Lucia Vega & former Olympic swimmer Reece Carras together. They have an intense sexual connection, but it's a slow burn. They were friends first, allowing their relationship to progress, making the story standout above most other romance novels. But alas, they are both keeping secrets. And just when I thought forgiveness would be their ultimate challenge, Dylan Allen gives us a whammy of a plot twist!
I've read stories that have gotten stuck in my mind for a long time. Thicker Than Water is definitely is one of those for me. It was gripping, beautiful, and brilliant!

Thicker Than Water

Another book by Dylan Allen that I love! The first of her books that I have listened to on audio. It was amazing! It's more than just a romance. This book turned a light on to something I've never thought much of before. Things that we do now that we take for granted. It is an amazing book that I would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone. The narration is great and done with such feeling and emotion.
