Publisher's summary

The darling daughter of a champion Thoroughbred breeder, Camille "Cami" Hines has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was happy with her boyfriend, her life, and her future - until she met Patrick Henley.

"Trick" blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her - and he just happens to be so sexy she can’t keep her hands off him. While they both know that Trick will lose his much-needed job on the ranch if anyone finds out, they can’t resist the lure of their scorchingly hot encounters.

But when Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome. It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, and secrets with the power to tear them apart.…

It's just like chocolate

It has no nutritional value whatsoever but it’s oh so sweet and satisfying.
If you enjoy a simple and sweet romance book then this one is for you. I enjoyed the buildup between the two main characters and the overall story was a very easy listen. I wasn't sure if I’d like the dual narrators but it really worked nicely.

I thought this was a credit worthy listen, but for $7.34 why bother? Just buy the book.

AHHHH LOVELY JUST LOVELY

If you're looking for a sweet, tender, heartbreaking romance that's filled with great characters (including a handsome hunky ranch-hand) that are all involved in a touching plot that the author describes in such detail that you mentally picture each chapter and laugh, scream, cry and sigh with them - then look no further because this is your book.

I'm never too sure of a double-narration but this worked - Amy McFadden was just ok but Nick Podehl was just yummy. Not explicit or very descriptive sex scenes.

Worth a credit? Well YES it definitely would have been, but it's on sale (at the moment) which is even better (so what have you got to loose?) even at $7.34 it's worth the money.

Good but far from great

I bought this book based on the many rave reviews and was a little disappointed. I did enjoy the characters but was disappointed in the love/kissing scenes.I felt they weren't passionate enough to get me fully involved in the story and were over before they started. Don't get me wrong...I'm not looking for smut, but a little more detail would have been nice. These were consenting adults and the scenes were very PG. I also felt like the ending was rushed. There was never any mention of Trick's mum and how she felt about them getting together. I would recommend this book for a young adult reader but not for someone looking for something a little steamier.

Fluffy fluff

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I guess so. I don't think the story was innovative or particularly engaging but it was fairly entertaining. This novel was full of tension and angst and I don't really appreciate plots that rely on misunderstanding after misunderstanding. I understand most plots aren't believable but the reactions of the characters to certain developments I found to be incredibly unrealistic. Sometimes the characters seemed mature, sexually anyway, and at other times they seemed almost childlike.

If you’ve listened to books by M. Leighton before, how does this one compare?

Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed the trip they all took together. I do have this question, it is very hard to answer without spoiling anything.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No but I did tell myself five more minutes several times.

Any additional comments?

The narrators saved this book from being a disaster for me. I find it difficult to listen to a book with two narrators because I find myself thinking about who reads better instead of listening closely but I loved them both, they really complimented each other. I'm not sure if this book is worth the credit I spent on it. If you find this book on sale, go ahead and get it but if not I would wait on this one.

You had me at Hemi Cuda!

Yummmy This is a hot little romance between a hired help ranch hand Trick and the ranch owners daughter Cammy. Instant attraction, love at first sight, very fun playful banter with classic cars and pretty horses what more could you ask for? :-) You feel the intensity of lust and love between these characters but of course they must battle their families on the be half of keeping their relationship. Sometimes parents can just ruin everything. There is a point in the book where you do want to smack sense into the main characters for denying there true feelings for each other, but I guess its also part of the charm of the book.
I say absolutely yes to the credit, it is a very charming book.

Loved it!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Wild Ones to be better than the print version?

I'm fairly new to audio books. I'm not sure if I would say that it is better than the print version. I haven't read the print version and I do LOVE to read, so I'm biased. On the other hand, I've enjoyed this audio edition so much that I can't wait to download another.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wild Ones?

When Patrick introduced himself as "Trick" to Camille and she said, "As in trick or treat?" Hilarious.

What does Nick Podehl and Amy McFadden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Their performances were stellar.
I loved Amy McFadden's Spanish accent. How she went from a Spanish accent to a Southern accent to her own voice in one continuous flow was amazing.
And Nick Podehl made Trick sound so sexy. I could listen to him perform as Trick all night.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!

Any additional comments?

I look forward to downloading more audio books. It would be a bonus if I can find some with the same performers.

Horses and cowboys, how can you go wrong?

Very cute, very nice story. There are some dark sides to be sure but overall a very good yarn. This is a contemporary romance and after the character struggle that we all know and love in romance, a happily ever after. I recommend it, especially if you are looking for something a little lighter.

~~NICE!!!~~~

Where does The Wild Ones rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would say 8 out of 10.... 10 being the best :)

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked the scene where she finally breaks it off with Brent and Trick comes up to her on the dance floor....So sweet and sexy.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

::::SPOILER::: loved loved the moment when Trick proposes to her....SO FREAKIN SWEET!

Any additional comments?

I didnt know if I was gonna like the fact that Amy reads Cami's part and Nick reads Tricks part instead of back and forth, but it really really works great.... I love the the sexual talk between Trick and Cami... This book is worth the credit. The ending was awesome :)

Trick to the rescue!

Not knowing at the time of purchase, this book is about early 20 year olds still in and just out of college. The summary explains the plot pretty well. Patrick goes to work for Cami's dad who is a horse breeder and the romance begins. The story flowed so even though the characters were a little young for me, I tended to forget that and got involved in the story, which is a good thing. Although Cami was likable and her narrator, Amy McFadden, did an ok job...sorta...maybe not, it was Trick's character and his narrator that saved the book and lets face it, it is all about the guy/hero in romantic books. Trick was witty and had a great personality and the narrator, Nic Podehl, did a fantastic job bringing him to life and reading his part. Could use some work with his female voice but that was easy overlook as well. I would definitely get another book by M. Leighton.

A nice ligtht romance

Any additional comments?

At first i found this book quite childish but the story picked up and i found myself enjoying it. The doable narrators were great. It's a nice light romance :)
