Publisher's summary

If he meets her, she will die. Twenty year old sorcerer and college student Scott Tabors knew he'd found his heart mate the moment he saw 17-year-old Olivia Whitehead outside of a coffee shop. He longs for her, he wants her, and he knows she will be his. But due to a curse on his family, he can't meet her. Not yet. So for now, he visits her in her dreams, where he can tell her everything but his name.

Olivia Whitehead and her best friend Juniper are enjoying their junior year and are as close as sisters. But Olivia can't tell anyone about the strange changes she's experiencing, beginning with steamy dreams featuring a mysterious dark haired young man. But what will happen when the school heartthrob starts showing interest? Will she wait around for her dream man, or will she move on?

When Olivia's life is put in danger by a new threat, Scott must find a way to save her, without condemning her to an early death.

The story was great but the audio quality wasn't

The White Aura was an intriguing story however the quality of the audio took away a lot. There were times the sentences kept repeating and as the story went on it seemed to get worse.

Loved this story

Where does The White Aura rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 25...... What a unique story

Who was your favorite character and why?

All of them, I think Evienne did a great job with them all

What does Evienne Zander bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The emotions of all the characters, it was nice to get a sense of everything while it was taking place in the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yeah, some funny moment and also some very emotional moments it was a nice combination.

Any additional comments?

Not sure if it was part of the story/book or it was my audio copy, but several parts/words/sentence appeared to be repeated while I was listening. As I didnt read it I wasnt sure if it was part of the book.I was voluntarily provided this free review copy by the author, narrator or publisher.

Narration almost ruined it

I will start by saying that I will likely read or listen to the next book because the story is interesting. Great premise. Writing is not stellar (the dialogue is rather irritating), not again, I will read the next book. The narration was really bad. I didn't like the way the narrator portrayed the female character, and the inflection was over the top in many cases. The worst thing, though, was the many, many instances where passages were repeated. I don't know what the problem was, but it nearly ruined it for me. I think I would've enjoyed this a lot more in print.

ON TO BOOK 2!

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to listen to book 2. Not another Vampire YA book which is GREAT. I love, love, love the characters and the narrator is just perfect for the book.

The White Aura

Any additional comments?

Good start to a series. This book definitely falls in the YA category. Overall the story was entertaining and enjoyable. Interesting twist since the main characters can't meet in person until a predetermined time. When Olivia turns 18. Even though they spend the majority book never actually meeting it was still interesting (yet frustrating, because you want them to meet in person ) seeing how they get around this obstacle.

Then due to circumstances, their meeting is forced. Now that they have met before the predetermined time this is where the story should get really interesting. I am curious to see where the story goes from here. There are so many unanswered questions. What are Olivia's parents hiding? What is Olivia? What is up with Scott's brother? Where is Olivia's brother really? Where did Aiden disappear to? Exactly how many sorcerers or supernatural's are living in their town? How will they break the curse? Just to name a few. The story ends on a cliffhanger of sorts.

Really like that the story was told through dual POV's. Like how each supernatural group had their own color of aura. There is a love triangle of sorts. At times the story lagged a bit. There were also some cheesy clichés. Examples, Mr. Sexy nickname, Aiden's evil laugh.

Evienne Zander does a good job with the narration for the most part. Pleasant voice. She has some good character voices. Most of the time you can tell the difference between male and female characters. Her male character voice for Scott was really good. At times Aiden sounded just like Olivia which was confusing. Sometimes her narration is a bit to fast she sounds like she's speed reading.

There are so many repeated words or lines throughout the book I just stopped counting after a while. The chapters are not numbered they just alternate between Olivia and Scott POV's. Repeated lines starting about 2:45 into chapter 14 (according to my iPod) continuing all through the chapter. Chapter 20 same line repeated 4 times , and more repeated lines in other chapters.

If I had purchased the book I would have returned it based on all the errors in the audio.

Original and intriguing

The White Aura is a young adult fantasy that's appropriate for teens. All the elements to make it an entertaining read were present. The main character is kinda a normal teen excepr she has dreams, vivid dreams about a really hot guy. The hot dream guy is real but can't let her know he exists until she reaches a certain age. He's a sorcerer. In the story various sorcerers are known to each other by their aura.

The story is fast paced and easy to listen to. The characters were believable and there was an element of suspense. The only thing that made me smash my eyebrows was the Crimson Calamari. The CC is an evil sorcerer whose super strong. I didn't get the name. The red squid? I chuckle at the name rather than accept him as a bad guy. I think his nickname could be stronger but it was a really fun story anyways.

Evienne Zander's performance and pace was good. The story ends but leaves the door wide open for a sequel so I'll be watching for it.
