Lora was taken from her home in London to live in the new world of America with her husband, John, whom she did not love. By the year 1725, she was a widow and jumped at the chance to return to her beloved London. She would stay at the grand estate where her sister and her husband lived, in a posh area of North London.
Lora was looking forward to living without a husband for a while and knew that only the most passionate love would lure her into marriage once more, for she would not live in a loveless marriage ever again. She knew it would take years to find a man who could challenge her and bring out real desire in her, but it didn't. It happened fast, as soon as she met John Glandick, who - because she was not a virgin - took certain liberties with her. But did he want her for love or simply to use her as only a widow could be used?
