Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Nora Roberts returns with the classic tales of the MacKade brothers - their rebellions, their passions, and their loves.

Ten years after disappearing from Antietam, Maryland, the bad boy has come home. Cleaned up and successful now - though still dangerously good-looking - Rafe MacKade sets the town on fire…and tongues wagging. Not even lovely newcomer Regan Bishop is immune to his charms. Though Regan claims to not want to get involved with a rebel, Rafe's pretty sure that her reaction to their sizzling kisses suggests otherwise.

Great, Hot Characters!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Reagan. She stood up to the overly Macho men.

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels – was your favorite?

Ed. He did Ed really well. I kind of wish there had been more scenes with her.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no extreme reactions.

GETTING TO KNOW THE MACKADE'S

I enjoyed getting to know the MacKade brothers, their ghosts and the battle of Antietam. I am somewhat of a history buff and knew nothing about this northern most battle. The brothers' stories which incorporate the battle make me want to take a vacation.

Rafe's story was great as was Regan's "intrusion" into it. Now that we've met the brothers, can't wait to hear how their lives are changed by a "good woman".

I love this series

This series is one of my favorites. The narrator was not too bad. I do not like his "voices" all that well. I do like the overall theme of the brothers living in a haunted town finding their true love.

Unstoppable....

I can't believe I've not read this series, because I've read all the books written by Nora Roberts and her other alias J.D. Robb. Rafe is as hot as all Nora's heroes are and pig headed. Regan though is the only woman who can handle him. They thought they were just scratching each other's itch, but like all best laid plans, they fell in love. It was fun to listen to and read. Unstoppable. Love it.

Loved the Book...Not My Favorite Narrator

Would you listen to The Return of Rafe MacKade again? Why?

I would listen to this book again if read by a different narrator. I feel that the tone the narrator used for Rafe's voice gave the character a smarmy and rude vibe. Apparently, this has given other readers cause to call Rafe mean and nasty; I don't think the author intended this to be the case.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Luke Daniels?

I would like to continue the MacKade series; I love the story but hesitate because of Luke Daniels' overly done "voices".

Simple plot but intriguing!!!

Great short story and boy do I like the Mackades even though they are a bit primitive with the need for physical fighting. Definitely a nice listen and unlike the negative feedback by others feedback regarding the narrator, I actually thought he was good. Well worth the read.

Great Story and Performance!

This is a classic Nora Roberts story that, combined with the narration performance, left me so entertained. Once I got used to the narrator, I found him quite enjoyable. There are so many different characters, I really appreciated all his different voices to keep them all straight.

Laughable Narration

I've read this story several times and though it's not on my top ten list of her books, I enjoy the simplicity of the plot. I decided to download the audible version because of the price and to keep my hands free. I'm starting to wonder if they audition narrators because this guy barely even did the men's voices justice and the way he did the women was a joke. I will say that due to his lack of talent with the female voices it turned the book into less of a romance and put it into the comedy genre. If you want a laugh download it, otherwise don't waste your money.

Again, love the premise of the ghosts in the house.

Another good love take by Nora. The voices were a bit gruff, but overall a good tale. I guess I am listening close enough to Halloween to enjoy a bit of ghostly adventure, I also have an interest in the civil war.
