Publisher's summary

A renowned rake, Cameron Mackenzie doesn't care if Ainsley Douglas has a virtuous excuse for sneaking around his bedchamber. He only cares that she's at his mercy. One kiss at a time, he plans to seduce her. But what starts out as a lusty diversion may break Cam's own rules.

Perfect Regency Romance

This series just keeps getting better and better. I didn’t think there would be a Mackenzie brother I would love more than Ian, but Cameron sure did come close. He is such a rake but deep down you know there is something more to him than just carnal pleasures.

I enjoyed the love story between Cam and Ainsley and thought she was the perfect match for him. Add to that the side stories of Daniel, Hart and the rest of the Mackenzie clan and you have a perfect regency romance book.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Oh what a Highland Pleasure

This is such a wonderful series. Book three in this series was just as good as the first two. This is the story of Cameron and Ainsley. This book is a little suspenseful, sweet, tender, romantic, sexy, and even sad in some parts. I loved how the characters in the first two books appear in this book. Its like old friends that come to visit. if you liked the first two books you will like this one too!

Really good addition to the series. :D

4-4.5 stars

This was a really good story. Cameron and Ainsley made a great couple and I enjoyed their story very much and got sucked in from the beginning.

Ainsley is a very nice lady that hasn't always had the best of luck. Her parents died when she was young and she was raised by her bothers. When she was 18, she was travelling abroad with her brother and his wife and she got involved with a man she shouldn't have, ending up disgraced and having to make a quick marriage to a man that was much older than her. Ainsley cared for her husband though and tried to be a good wife to him during their marriage. Unfortunately, when he husband died, Ainsley was left with little and either stays with her brother or works for the Queen as a lady in waiting.

Cameron is the next younger brother under his brother, Hart, who is a Duke. Cameron likes his life of training horses and he has a gift with horses that's made him one of the best horse trainers in Scotland (and England for that matter). Cameron was married once but the woman was crazy and eventually lost it enough to be a physical danger to Cameron. She became pregnant with Cameron's son, Daniel, and Cameron tried to keep her from hurting Daniel but her craziness just got worse. Eventually she killed herself during a crazy spell and Cameron turned to horses and loose women (and raising his son the best he could), swearing never to marry again.

Ainsley met Cameron 6 years before when she entered his bedchamber (while he wasn't there) to try to find something for a friend, believing Cameron was blackmailing the lady in question. Cameron catches Ainsley and she lets him believe she wants a tryst with him. In all honesty, Ainsley was very attracted to him and almost succumbs to Cameron's charms and sleeps with him. But she can't stand the thought of cheating on her husband who's been so good to her and she breaks things off before they go to far. 6 years later, one of Cameron's lovers, Mrs. Carter, gets a hold of some letters belonging to the Queen that could cause her great embarrassment if their contents came out. Mrs. Carter is blackmailing the Queen for money and Ainsley has been set the task of getting the letters by whatever means needed. Ainsley sees Mrs. Carter slip a page from a letter in to Cameron's coat pocket and breaks in to his chambers looking for the page. She doesn't find it but does get found by Cameron. Cameron wanted Ainsley badly when they met 6 years before but he respected her for not cheating on her husband. Now that Cameron has Ainsley within reach (and widowed for years so no husband fro her to worry about), he's unwilling to let her go again before he can taste her sweetness. Cameron goes about trying to seduce Ainsley into becoming his lover but also, when he finds out Ainsley's need to get the letters from Mrs. Carter (who is no longer with Cameron) and Cameron promises to help her. Cameron and Ainsley have some interesting encounters but don't actually have sex right away. Ainsley wants to but is also very worried about being ruined if someone found out about them and the shame it could bring her family. With her previous close call with ruination, Ainsley doesn't want to chance it but Cameron's kisses make it hard to say no. Cameron and Ainsley manage to get the Queen's letters and Ainsley decides to risk one night with Cameron. They have a rather steamy encounter but then it's not enough for Cameron and he asks her to become his lover and travel the continent with him. Ainsley really isn't sure about that because it would provide even more possibility of ruining her reputation but she also knows that she's always regret not taking the happiness while she could.

Ainsley ends up leaving Cameron for a while because the Queen summoned Ainsley to come to her. Cameron isn't happy about this as he's realized that he doesn't want to let Ainsley go. While settling things with the Queen, Ainsley tries to figure out what to do and ends up seeking advice from her good friend, Eleanor (who happens to be the woman that used to be engaged to Hart Mackenzie and will be in the next book, The Duke's Perfect Wife). Ainsley ends up deciding to go and spend what time she can enjoying Cameron before he grows tired of her and moves on. She meets Cameron on the train as he asked and quickly finds out Cameron's plans for her have changed. The separation and the fear that Ainsley wouldn't come plagued Cameron so when she shows up, Cameron decides he's not taking the chance of losing her again and says that the first stop will be to London so they can get a special license and get married immediately. Ainsley is a bit surprised but agrees happily. Cameron and Ainsley are happy to be married but there are some difficulties from Cameron's previous marriage that cause them some strain in their relationship as they try to get past them (or at least Ainsley does while Cameron tries to ignore the issues exist). There's also other things that come up like dealing with Daniel (who actually has been pushing Cameron and Ainsley together from the start) and a new horse that Cameron is dealing with. Overall, Ainsley and Cameron's marriage goes pretty well and their feeling for each other just grow deeper. When Ainsley is almost hurt it brings Cameron to an understanding of just how much he loves Ainsley and always wants her with him. Ainsley of course already fell for Cameron but has trouble convincing him of the truth of her feelings (due to his past issues). There does ends up being a bit of trouble they have to get past before things are settled but in the end, Cameron and Ainsley are very happy together and starting their HEA.

This was a really enjoyable story. I loved seeing Cameron and Ainsley get their HEA. They both went through bad stuff in their past (especially Cameron) and it's great seeing them happy at the end. I'm looking forward to reading Hart's book next. I'd recommend this book. Thumbs up. :D

A decadent treat!

Jennifer Ashley has written such an amazing series. Each book has been very different but all of them very well written. The first book in the series The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie was one of the best books I've ever read in my life and made me fall in love with Ian. I was sure no other book could come close to that one. The second book was just ok. But then I listened to this one and I fell in love all over again. This time with Cameron. I had an impression he was a selfish ass who did not care for his son and only lived for his carnal pleasures. Well I was wrong. Very very wrong. Cameron didn't really have that many sins. He was just a very hurt, betrayed and traumatized man. And I love his journey and his change. Ainsley put the pieces of his heart back together little by little. And she was such a good woman. Just an honest, lovable, good woman.

I loved every character on this story. I loved how romantic and sizzling hot the main relationship was. I loved how the other couples were incorporated into the story and to know how they are doing. I loved how the next story was introduced (Hart and Eleanor). I loved the freaking horse Jasmine. I loved Cam's son Daniel. I even loved Angelo the gypsie. Yeah, I pretty much loved every second of this story.

Narration: Angela Dawe did a great job with the story. I gave up trying to hear a british or Scottish accent but other than that the narration was passionate, intense and nearly perfect. Worth a credit? Abso-freaking-lutly!!!

OH.... THESE YUMMY SCOTS BROTHERS

I love JA's work and the whole Highland Pleasures series has been great so far and this book is no exception. If you've listened to the other 2 books in the series then you know what to expect but if you haven't then what are you waiting for - put them in your cart NOW 'cause you don't want to miss this series.!!

As the blurb in the Publisher's Summary says, it's Cameron's turn to find love but the road to it never runs smoothly (that's why we love them isn't it) Cameron is the scarred brother who loves horses, drink, his son Daniel and of course women. He meets Ainsley (now a widow) again after years have passed since their first brief encounter in his bedroom when she was stealing a necklace.

This time there's an instant attraction between them but again, Cameron catches her in his bedroom desperately looking for something. Coupled with the blossoming romance you get the updates from Ian and Beth and Isabella and Mac and, of course, Daniel who is growing up fast.

I could go on about great characters, good plot, sexy Scottish rake etc., etc., etc., but, if you've listened to books 1 & 2, then you know all that and you know what to expect - a thoroughly enjoyable way to pass 9 hours.

Looking forward to Hart's story next in The Duke's Perfect Wife.

Worth my credit? It's a definite Yes.

The Mackenzie's Rock!!!!

Where does The Many Sins of Lord Cameron rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Literally ( pardon the pun) #1!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cameron, has always been my favourite character, even since book one.

What about Angela Dawe’s performance did you like?

I love her voice, she's perfect.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This is a book, with real feeling. You can imagine yourself in this dysfunctional, but loving family. These 4 men take care of each other, as adults as they had as boys, due to the abusive house they grew up in.
This book is about Cameron, the 2nd oldest. who suffered abuse from his father and also his wife, who had tried to kill their baby son, before she killed herself, years earlier.
Cameron has meaningless affairs, because he believes he is not worthy of anything else, until he meets Ainsley.
Their story is beautiful and heart-warming.

Any additional comments?

This is one of the best series of books I have read. You will fall in love with these characters, and their families.
Don't miss out, you won't regret it.

Officially, my favorite HR series. A+

I loved both Ian and Mac's story. I didn't think Jennifer Ashley could write another 5star book. But she has. Cam story is sad, passionate and beautiful. Surpassed my expectations, and then some.
Angela Dawe's performance was superb! I want to read the next book, but I'm willing to wait to hear Dawe's beautiful interpretation.

Highly recommended!!! Every book in this series is exceptional.

Favorite Brother in the Series

Read/Listened for Fun (Audible/Kindle)

Audio Rating: 4.50 (not part of the overall rating)

First Thought when Finished: The Many Sins of Lord Cameron was delightfully wicked and emotionally gut-wrenching at the same time!

Overall Thoughts: I think it is clear by now that I am just plowing through this series. I am so in love with it! It is dark, sexy, and wonderfully written. Cameron though is my favorite brother (I can say that successfully now that I have read all 4 + the Christmas Novella). He is damaged, sexy, wicked, and does the biggest bastard to HEA turn in the series. I was rooting for him every step of the way and really only Ainsley could have brought him to his knees. He needed someone who could go toe-to-toe with him and not back down. He also needed someone who could work though his particular damage (it was extensive) and be patient with the quirks that brought to his personality. This also makes me wonder how his son (Daniel--first marriage) will turn out. I can't wait to read his book because he is dealing with some his father's baggage too. *sigh* This was just fantastic!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Angela Dawe / Length: 9 hrs and 8 mins

Angela pulled of Cam and Ainsley with a precision that made me smile. I am really enjoying her narration of this series.

Final Thoughts: I don't know what I will do when I catch up! Probably try her shifter series LOL

Quote Jar

The count said in careful English, "That was perhaps not, as you English say, very sporting."

"Games are played to win," Cameron said. "And we're Scottish.”

Special to Me

I'm not sure if others do this, but I tend to "cast" every book I read. Mostly with actors, however I have come across certain characters that remind me of people in my life. This book was (for a long time) my favorite I the series. As much as I adored the romance Iain and Beth shared, this book was always "the one". I've listened to this book so often I could not gather a guess at how many times.
I will apologize now for the horrible review I am typing.
Book 3 in the Highland Pleasures Series is a five-star read or listen. Jennifer Ashley has created such a wonderful family of characters. On to the next one...again. (Yep, the whole series is worthy of being heard or read many times over. )
