Publisher's summary

A desperate mother. A scarred man. A powerful bond...

The moment he saw Blythe Daphne on the television news, Lucas Kenyon knew three things: She was a shape shifter, like him. She was the most desirable creature he had ever seen. And she was in terrible danger.

Now, the wolf in Lucas is driving him to save Blythe and her young daughter from a man he knows is evil personified. A man who believes all shape shifters are demons straight from hell. But Lucas knows he must never reveal the secret that threatens to tear him apart - not even to the one woman who could heal him.

Love it

This story by Karen Whiddon was very entertaining, well written, and it has lots of good plot elements to keep you interested. Lucas has a secret that is the key to his past problems and also his future happiness. Lucas hates confronting his past, but he cannot leave his mate and her child in the hands of a monster! Lucas and Blythe are likable characters, and while Blythe seems to be naïve in believing what she sees until it's too late, I have to say her willingness to trust, even when she sees signs that it is misplaced, is very understandable when coupled with a mother's desire to heal her child.

This book can be heart wrenching one minute and then heart-stopping the next. This is a must have for all who love a thrilling romance with a HEA ending. Whiddon packs a lot into such a short book.

Very unimaginative

The story of shifters had no world building or character development. You get a simplistic storyline of shifters being held captive and two adults who come together to save a child and their weird way of dealing with their feelings is to have sex in a boring way. In addition this writer puts in phrases like “oh hellhounds” for a swear word and uses it repeatedly which is irritating at best boring at worse.

After hardly any explanation about the situation it’s resolved. I found it a waste of hours but if you don’t mind these things maybe you would like it. It’s free in the romance package so no harm no foul.
