The power of pleasure....

Gabriel Miller took everything from me. My family. My innocence. My home. The only thing I have left is the determination to get back what's mine. He thinks he's beaten me. He thinks he's won. What he doesn't realize is that every pawn has the chance to become a queen. And the game has only just begun. The Knight is book two in the Endgame series from New York Times best-selling author Skye Warren about revenge and seduction in the game of love.

So bad I cannot believe it got published this is something like Fifty Shades of Grey only much worse

This book had nothing to recommend it, the story was confusing boring and poorly constructed. The adult content, something I occasionally enjoy just seemed tasteless not erotic . I did not like one character in the book and I felt the main character, Avery, was pathetic in the true sense of the word. I read or listen to two - three books a week and this was a standout for awful.

I subsequently noted this is an author with a fair number of published books, honestly I assumed it was a first or second published book. I only finish the book because it was very short and it was so bad I just wanted to say if it ever got better. It did not, there is a sequel oh spare me.

It is such a twisted and different than any books I read in a while . I did not expect any of the things that happened with the characters . Also scary.

struggled to finish

Definitely struggled to finish the book. The story line was not predictable but too confusing.

Not as good as reading it

There are too many mispronounced words to make it enjoyable. I'd rather read it instead.

Not as good as Part One but OK.

This is not a stand-alone – it’s book two in a trilogy.

I’d classify this as a dark erotic romance. In book one the hero bought the pleasure of the heroine’s company for 30 days at auction but the let her go before the expiry date. How will this couple find their way back together? The story is told from the heroine’s point of view and we don’t get much insight into the hero’s mind as he gives very little away, isn’t very outwardly likeable, and you have to read into his actions for clues about his feelings. As a reader, I didn’t fall in love with the hero by the end of this book, and I had to take it on trust that he’s a good guy - or at least will be a good guy in future. Mystery and secrets abound in the story-line that will carry over to the last book, adding interest. I feel dark erotic stories are too cold for my liking. I need more emotion (or at least SOME) from the hero.

I listened to this whole trilogy/3 part serial on Audible. I liked the voice of the narrator, but some of her pronunciation threw me off every now and then. For example: ‘fugue state’ was pronounced ‘FUGE’ rhyming with huge. Perhaps that’s how this and other words are pronounced in the U.S? Cultural differences? Also, words ending in ‘ing’ were often pronounced without the g. A little distracting. Still, I prefer this narrator to some others I have heard. She has a lovely, youthful voice that is perfect for this heroine in her early 20s.

Hot!

These two are so busy trying to hate each other they don't see the flames.

Continues to Drag

After the Pawn, I would have never listened to The Knight if I hadn’t already bought it. Much of the same with great detail to description causing a slow development of the mediocre story line. An OK listen but not worth the credit.

Great

I loved it. I was disappointed that the Castle was not ready for me to listen to.

addictive beyond all reason

Skye Warren has well and truly hooked me with Avery and Gabriel's story. There is unknown danger around each corner. The twists throughout this book slowly unravel painting a bigger picture of the the circumstances surrounding Avery and will keep you on the edge of your seat all while she and Gabriel go head to head. I can honestly say that for all his ruthlessness, I fell a little in love with Gabriel. I HIGHLY recommend this book by Skye Warren. She is a true mistress of writing so it grabs you by the gut.
Kylie Stewart brings these characters to life.
