Weak male and female, poor narration.

What did you like best about The Italian's Suitable Wife? What did you like least?

The storyline should have made for a great read but the female character was spineless and the male character insecure.....all made worse by the terrible narration. I have never disliked a narrator before but she was so wrong for this book it just ruined it.

not bad for a bodice ripper

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not particularly, but I was also doing my housework at the time so that isn't totally true.

Did The Italian's Suitable Wife inspire you to do anything?

I kept on waiting for the female lead to grow a back bone. It didn't happen.

Ugh.

I was really excited to listen to this book. Was even enjoying it in the beginning, but then things progressed, where I felt and thought, "What did I miss? How did that happen?"
I am having difficulty putting this into words...
this book was offensive to me.

Fertility issues were addressed within the first couple of weeks of marriage.
Adoption was frowned upon by the heroine.
No communication between main characters...

We didn't get a chance to understand the leading man either. It was like reading a "one sided" book, and because the heroine was so insecure, we were unable to "read" into his behaviors.

I hope I make some sense. The heroine was a sweetheart, but needed more backbone.

So sweet and sensual!

Oh, how I loved this book. It was one of the sweetest things I've read in a really long time. The love shown in this book was so tender and overwhelming that I found myself crying as if I were the main character. Thanks for such a great story and a wonderful emotional adventure!

Feel Good Read

This is a good read when you want to escape and just listen and enjoy. This novel was well written, although the Italian accents weren't the best by the narrator.

Awful!!!!

The female was wimpy the male clueless for someone who was suppose to be a women killer. Did not care fore the narration the Italian accent just made the character sound stupid and I really did not like the way the characters were articulated . Kept hoping the book would get better but finally gave up did not read the full book

Great Story

If you could sum up The Italian's Suitable Wife in three words, what would they be?

Romantic, fascinating and thrilling.

What three words best describe Lindsay Ellison’s voice?

I do not like her narration of Gianna's voice, it makes her sound blah........

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I would listen to this book in one sitting.

I have listened to this book over a dozen times. The story is well written and you can't help but imagine everything happening. I'll look for another book by the author.
