Romantic suspense is a favorite of mine. There is nothing better than a book that has an engaging couple that has to deal with some plot twists and turns. Ursula Sinclair has written an trilogy of three couples that have all of these qualites. Each book in this trilogy has a couple that has incredible chemistry, both in the bedroom and out. Whether a chance meeting with love at first sight or childhood friends, these couples are able to overcome and get their happily ever after. The Guardian Agents are three ex-special service soldiers who are now back in civilian life running a security agency. These men are super hot, and incredibly protective of their women. I especially loved the fact that the characters hooked together somehow and are mixed into each of the stories, giving a feeling of continuity and like you are part of their group. Ross and Shanna, River and Noah and Ebony and Simon bring wit, love, and their own original suspenseful twist. Loved them.
Unfortunately, the narrator, Lee Cronin, was not a good fit. His performance was inconsistent and underwhelming. Luckily my the stories are written so well that with ey carried themselves and we enjoyable.
The storyline of each book was intriguing. I especially liked the first one and all of its twists. It kept me guessing on who was Shanna's stalker. The romance that develops between Shanna and Ross is sweet and erotic. It adds a niceness to a story that could easily be a real life drama.
River and Noah are great together. The turmoil that surrounds them, makes their romance even sweeter and more addicting.
Ebony and Simon were my favorite couple. I loved every dynamic of their individual stories and their story as a couple.
Unfortunately, the narrator did not keep me interested. He had a very flat affect and I had a very hard time relating to the characters. The sex scenes seemed like a robot was reading it. He read them very quickly and flatly. He did have wonderful voices for each of the characters so that I could tell them apart. In the last book, he seemed to put a little emotion into his reading so the characters attitudes came through, which was a great way to end this bundle.
