Publisher's summary

The epic conclusion to The Boy & His Ribbon

"What do you do when you write down all your secrets? No...that's not enough. What do you do when you write down all your secrets and the one person who should never read them does? I'll tell you what you do. You hope."

Ren

Ren didn't know the meaning of love until he took Della for his own. To begin with, he hated her, but as the months bled into years, he learned the opposite of hate, dedicating his life to giving her everything. Every sacrifice, every gift, he gave wholeheartedly. But then love turned to lust and ruined everything.

Della

I was stupid to write down my secrets, but I'd been stupid before, so it was nothing new. I couldn't blame him, hate him, fix him. I tried to move on without him. But no matter what I did, I couldn't seem to delete the secrets I'd written. Until something happened. Until he came back and read my stupid secrets. And nothing was the same after that.

Not a love story, but a story of love.

There are not enough words in the english language nor enough stars in the sky that could justifiably describe my thoughts and feelings of The Girl and Her Ren. This is not a love story, this is a story of love. A love in all it’s many special and complicated forms.

I have read stories that have wrought every emotion from me. Books that have taken a piece of me. Characters that have touched my soul intimately, and a plot that has left me astounded. But none have encompassed these to the level that Ren and Della’s story has. Winters has written a transcendental story that is timeless.

I will forever be changed by having read this duet. My heart will never be the same. It has been broke, but Pepper Winters has reconstructed it by breathing Ren and Della’s story into it to forever be a part of me.

If you ever only read one book/series in your life, this would be the story to read. This duet has garnered my top read of all time, and I doubt will be exceeded by another.

The narration of this story was so immaculately done. I doubt any other would have been a better fit for Ren and Della than Hayden Bishop and Will M Watt!! Bravo on a spectacular job!!

Somebody hold me

While I had no idea that this is where I would end up and I have no intention of ruining the story in any way for anyone else, I will say that this book is beautifully written in all ways. In book 1 Ren and Della were separated, in this book, they are brought back together and we are the conclusion of their story. Though hard and difficult to listen to in some places, it also was so perfect and so blindingly awesome.

Hayden and Will were perfection. Duet isn’t my favorite choice for narration, but they were flawless. Every transition was seamless. There were complications with the audio when I listened, but I just reverted to the book for the chapters that were missing. I know a lot of people wouldn’t be happy with that, so you may want to check and make sure those issues are solved before you start listening.

BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE!

Heartbreakingly brutal but realistic! A twisted and painful read/listen with a beautiful message, I think.

This turned out to be one of the most, gripping and enthralling stories I have read this year. The irony, I keep listening non-stop hoping for a miracle.

This story truly messed up with my mind and emotions from the very beginning. Once again, Author Pepper Winters delivers a very compelling and captivating story that touches the very depths of your soul, however in this case it will rip your heart out if you're not thinking realistically (in my defense, this was too close to home).

Nattators Will Watt and Hayden Bishop did an outstanding job in their performance!! JUST BRILLIANT!!

Not to be listened to at work! Or while driving!

It's horribly embarrassing to be hiding behind your desk crying....
or to have to pull over to get a grip on emotions while driving home from work!

I've been a fan of Pepper's writing since i discovered her Indebted series - and moved on to nearly everything else she has available on Audio. Her ability to suck the reader into the world she created is unique - and even though she has a dark twist on everything, she leaves her readers drained, purged, yet whole and better for the experience. At least I've felt that way - and this story is the epitome of that! Yes - about half way through the inklings of the ending began to niggle - fear and anticipation of where things were going kept me engaged - can you say frozen pizza for dinner cuz i couldn't concentrate enough on anything but Ren and Ribbon to cook a real dinner?

I'm writing this review even though I've not quite finished the story - i had to put it aside and wipe the tears...not appropriate behind your desk! But it will be finished today - maybe I'll go sit in my car at lunch. And I'm already planning to revisit the duet in a month or so - a need only Pepper's books seem to draw out in me. I became entranced with Ren and Ribbon early in the first book - and have had a difficult time distancing myself from the story through the second - much to hubby's consternation. I've just not been able to disentangle myself from Pepper's world full of real people - real emotions - real anger, hate, jealousy, mistakes, triumphs, guilt, honor, wins, losses and forgiveness - and love.

Methinks my hubby will look at me questioningly as I sit at his feet this evening once the book is finished, needing to feel the connection to him and his love that's a need clawing at me now. As this story has made it so abundantly clear above all else - do not loose touch with, do not deceive and above all - be honest to those close to you! The lesson is there for the taking! The story - the world the reader is brought in to gets dark, and brings the reader to question themselves and their morality a bit - but some soul searching periodically is good for you - helps keep you real.

I've already shared my thoughts on the Ribbon duet with those at work i swap recommendations with!
and i'm sharing my highest recommendation with anyone on Audible who would pay attention!

Great listen

I have listened to both books in this duet. The boy and his ribbon is the first book and the story concept caught my attention. Both are well written and the narration is fantastic. That being said, the story has a very sad undercurrent with the predictable sad ending.

So, if you require a happily ever after, this is not the book for you. It is gritty and angst. It’s a love story that works its way into your sole. I loved it and would recommend it highly

Well worth your credits for both books!

Devastating Amazing Heartbreaking Awesome!

This duet is EVERYTHING! Devastating Amazing Heartbreaking Awesome! The beautifully crafted words in this story will break your heart into tiny little pieces while making you believe in absolute, true, pure love in so many ways that it gives you everything! These survivors band together to show you family love, friendly love, raw-hungry-wild seductive love, and even the sweet, tender, innocent kind of love all wrapped into a single story that spans decades and grows with time into something amazing! Ren & Della will forever be a piece of me, a reminder to love fiercely and give my all in everything I do. Most importantly, it was a reminder to take nothing for granted.

This story isn't a pretty ribbon tied into a perfect bow. It has the power to devour you - but I wholeheartedly encourage you to read it. Better yet, listen to it on Audible. The performances bring so much more depth than anything in my imagination could conjure. I giggled, laughed out loud, cringed in suspense, empathized with the innocent and juvenile mistakes, and definitely fell in love with love along with Will Watt and Hayden Bishop as their narrative performances brought life to the skillfully crafted words of Pepper Winters.

AWESOME SERIES!

I absolutely loved it! This book caught my attention from the very beginning and held it throughout the entire book. The narration was superb and gave the story that extra flair! The author did an amazing job with the character builds and plot. I look forward to reading more books in this series (can't wait)! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I listened to both audible books.. The boy and his ribbon and The girl and her Ren.. both are amazing!

I usually listen to many genres of books.. mostly romance. This book/series draws you in, good times, bad times, magical times and tearful “in need of tissue” times. The length was long and yet I couldn’t wait to hear what came next in their story. The narrators are amazing in their portrayal of the story and truly made you feel what they were experiencing. I would definitely listen to anything that Pepper Winters wrote!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Extraordinary & Emotional

I did not know how this book was going to end before I listened and I don't think there really was any way to prepare for how it all wraps up. Della & Ren's incredible journey continues but it's from both of their POV. Everything about them is so real and genuine. The way they love, live, fight, lust, survive and again and always love. Their connection transcends time. I really don't know the last time I cried so hard. Their pain was soul deep. Truly an incredible love story. The narration was so good. Will & Hayden were seamless in conveying every emotion, incredible.

Ripped out my heart

If you’re not ok with a book making you sob uncontrollably, do not get this book. It’s such a beautiful story though. The narration was perfect. It will move you to your soul. I fell in love with the characters and desperately wanted so very much for them. I bawled like a baby at the ending of their story. I can’t decide if I want to praise the author for her amazing story, or kick her ass for my broken heart.
