Publisher's summary

After five years as a stay-at-home mom, Gabby Schaefer can't wait to return to work. Oh, to use the bathroom in peace! No twins clamoring at the door, no husband barging in, no stepdaughter throwing a tantrum. But when her plans are derailed by some shocking news and her husband's crushing expectations, Gabby must fight for the right to have a life of her own.

Getting pregnant is easy for Hayley Batchelor. Staying pregnant is the hard part. Her husband is worried about the expensive fertility treatments and frantic about the threat to her health. But to Hayley, a woman who was born to be a mom should risk everything to fulfill her destiny - no matter how high the cost.

Nicole Lord is still shell-shocked by a divorce that wasn't as painful as it should've been. Other than the son they share, her ex-husband left barely a ripple in her life. A great new guy tempts her to believe maybe the second time's the charm...but how can she trust herself to recognize true love?

As their bonds of friendship deepen against the beautiful backdrop of Mischief Bay, Gabby, Hayley, and Nicole will rely on good food, good wine, and especially each other to navigate life's toughest changes.

Fun, easy listening book.

This was my first Audible book. I chose it to try the program. The Friends We Keep was a very enjoyable, happily ever after book. The narrator's voice was pleasurable and made listening to the book very easy and fun.

Lame

Whiney, cheesy, hallmark movie quality. This book is so unbelievably lame. Lacks any real plot. And the reader is annoying.

Good listen

I really wanted to slap the main characters as this story progressed, Even though I knew how it would turn out. When I get my feelings railed up I take it as good writing. Keep the stories coming.

I enjoyed this series book 2

I enjoy Susan Mallery’s book series. It is very interesting how the different families cope with all the tragedies throughout the book. I would recommend this series for adults. I like how she ends it. Not always completely happily ever after.

The Friends We Keep

I very much enjoyed the story. Any woman that has had friends can definitely relate. I thought the performance was done well also. The only thing I was disappointed in is that I felt the ending was a little too tidy in my opinion life is not that tidy. Overall a very good read.

It ends well

I liked the ending, but thought of giving up several times before I got there. One of the main characters is a lawyer who lets her wonderful husband and family walk all over her. Huh? Doesn’t make sense.

Not Great

I read the first book in this series (like actually read it, crazy I know) and really liked it, But this one just dragged on…and on…and on. Maybe it was the narrator that was annoying, but the storyline was just boring and cheesy. Normally I finish audible books in 2-3 days, but this one took me at least a week if not more and I found myself dreading listening to it.
