Publisher's summary

Robyn Carr is the number-one New York Times best-selling author of the Virgin River and Thunder Point series. Her novel Four Friends debuted at number five on the NYT. Wherever You Are is the third book in her best-selling Sullivan's Crossing series following What We Find and Any Day Now.

Dakota Jones is the second youngest of four children who had a difficult upbringing living with parents who struggle with mental illness. He escaped his family as soon as he could by joining the military. Now, after several tours of duty he has been discharged. He has nowhere to go and no solid plans for the future.

Refusing to return home to his parents he arrives in Sullivan's Crossing where his brother Cal and sister Sierra have each experienced the healing power of the place and its people. Nestled at the crossroads of the Colorado and Continental Divide Trails, the area attracts those looking for answers or direction or a new lease on life. Dakota will come to terms with his less-than-perfect family and will plant the roots he's never had.

Oh this book!!!! I NEVER cry at books and this one had me struggling. The surprise is that what I was emotional about wasn't even the main couple. What a Beautiful story! This family has stole my heart.
Dakota and Sid are another couple that were looking for something and they found it in each other. I loved that. What I am really enjoying about this series is that even though this is Dakota's book, it's only really half about him. We still get a complete story of what is going on with everyone else in the family and it's so perfect. Another book where Robyn Carr stole my heart with small town life!

As always the narration is PERFECT. Therese Plummer is my #1 favorite narrator. You would think that the Robyn Carr series would start to blend together since the narration is the same but for me it doesn't. That shows that she is amazing at her craft!

HOME RUN AGAIN!!!!!!!

If Audible only had Robyn Carr/Therese Plummer books, I'd still be a member! But since it has much, much more, it's a plus! I love the way Robyn Carr explores small towns with family and friends. I just wish the new releases would come faster. By the time a new one comes out, I've somewhat forgotten the past. With that being said, however, reflections of the past come very quickly into focus.

Therese Plummer is wonderful! I cannot say it enough! When she shows emotions, it will bring you to your knees. When she cries, you cry. I'm so in awe of her ability to move from a crying female to the voice of a consoling male. When I finished this book, I went straight into another Karen Slaughter "Will Trent" mystery and I had such a hard time adjusting to the background sound AND the voice of another narrator. Therese Plummer has TRULY spoiled me.

But yes, this book is definitely worth the credit!

Robyn Carr has a way of drawing me into her books. I really enjoyed feeling a connection with the characters in this series. Sad that its over.

Love the Jones family

This is the third installment of Sullivan's crossing and it dealt with both Dakota and Sedona Jones, the last two siblings. Sedona always seemed to be the most stable sibling and yet she had her own problems. Dakota was always kind of on the periphery, so it was nice to get to know him and Sid. I just love the Sullivan's crossing stories. Another great series from Robyn Carr.

No plot

I kept waiting for something exciting to happen. Nothing did. There were some very awkward sex scenes.

Interesting continuation of the Sullivan’s Crossing Series

I loved listening to this book with its heartwarming love story between Dakota and Sid. The character of Neeley was so disturbing that I sometimes had to put the book down to take a breather in anticipation of the suspense that she was causing. I also loved seeing the characters of Sierra and Connie continue on their journey.

I do like Therese Plummer and her characterizations and acting ability.
I have enjoyed her in the first two books of the Sullivan’s Crossing series. There was something about the choices made for the narration in this book that I did not enjoy: It was the way she spoke in a character voice followed by a monotone
“Cal asked...”. “Dakota said... “. “he said... “. “she said...” Cal laughed...”

It was hard not to notice this intrusion in the story after every sentence. It seemed to be that narrator needed to make a transition between the character voice and then the monotone she decided on for the “he said/she said” part. I am not sure why they made this decision to tell the story in that way, but I didn’t think it was a strong choice and created false stop and starts that shouldn’t have been part of the reading.

Overall, the story was heartwarming, heartbreaking, and suspenseful!

very good book!

I really enjoyed this book. The story is convoluted with lots of ups and down. The narrator is great!

It was ok

The story was just ok and the ending was anticlimatic-but the narrator was excellent. For those of you who have trouble keeping up with a variety of storylines or want to read this out of sequence, I recommend you read a sample of the book from amazon first. I may eventually get the next book in the series, but I’m not in any hurry to do so.

Boring

This is not my favorite by this author. I quit before the end of the book.

A Soap Opera

I've listened to a few of Robyn Carr's books. They're nice, low key books, when you want something easy to listen to. But. Listening to a series is like watching a soap opera. Not much movement in the story line, and repeated explanations of the past lives of the characters, almost used as filler.

Another issue I have is that the men don't talk and act like men. It's all touchy feely emotions, and in my experience a majority of men don't express emotions the way most women do. Yes, it sounds like stereotyping, and maybe Robyn is trying to affect a change, but it extreme enough to decrease my enjoyment.

Finally, the narrator has two voices: one for a man and one for a woman. Oh, I guess there's one for an older man voice too, but it's only slightly different. I can't tell who is talking!

I gave this 3 stars, but that might be generous.
