Audible Editor Reviews

Jaid Black's brazenly indulgent space sex romp delivers endless fun with dinosaurs, telekinesis, gassy little pugmuffs and all the impossibilities that inevitably follow an oafish, multi-dimensional king's abduction of a plain-Jane tax accountant with all the grace of a bull in a china shop. Performer Tillie Hooper possesses the punchy comic timing befitting the wry sense of humor that turns romance genre clichés on their heads in the vein of a campy Mel Brooks parody.
Packed to the gills with lively, endearing characters, interwoven side plots, wicked hilarity, and - of course - nonstop sex, this lighthearted, escapist fantasy is sure to become a favorite of listeners who appreciate erotica that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Erotic Fantasy

This book has lots of erotic sex scenes in it. There is still a plot and some twists and turns. I have read this book first and thought to get the audio since it was inexpensive and I had nothing else pressing to read. I enjoyed it just as much as reading it. You have to like sci-fi fantasy because there are weird names and language that you have to wrap your head around. It is a really crazy concept that aliens from another dimension can abduct you and basically turn you into a sex slave. Well not really as they Zor and Kyria are mated. There are some funny parts and I love the fact that Kyria is not meek and mild mannered. This makes for some really funny scenes. I also like the other characters that are all part of the story so even though there are a lot of sex scenes you still have sub plots. You have to be ok with explicit detail and a lot of talk about channels and domineering men. Overall I liked it. Not my usually listen but a will definitely make you hot.

One of the most ridiculous books I've ever read

I can't even.

Let's break this down. There's so much erotica that there's no pleasure - it's hardcore but it's also nonstop and you're drowning in sex scenes which makes for very little arousal for the reader.

There're ridiculous elements that originally made me think this was some sort of comedy. Like a dog with two butts - one is his face. And he farts everywhere. Also, these men apparently have a magic ability to ripe the clothing off a woman with a thought. The women (spoiler alert), being human, don't realize they're pregnant because their bodies don't change before they lay eggs... which in an hour become full-sized newborns/hatchlings. A little while after birth, the "bazooms" of the new mother grow to the size of watermelons with a glowing blue goo (the idea of milk disgusts the warriors) and it turns out to have other magical properties.

I have other issues with this story - mainly that all human biology is thrown out the window. The warriors don't educate their women at all, even after not knowing things causes problems, they still don't think to prepare their women for everything they will experience - like laying a friggin egg. Then look at them as if they are idiots when they don't know what's going on. Apparently just by having sex, a woman gains a lifespan of a warrior. I'm guessing their skin doesn't break apart or get stretch marks with the sudden gorging.

Personally I just found it weird that with all the possessiveness going on, a clueless new bride it okay with watching her new husband pound away at a gorgeous high priestess over and over before coming to her. It's given that it's because it's her first time and he'd injure her if he didn't release a few times before but the leading lady took this all way too well.

Perhaps I'm taking this too seriously as a book but I can't take this writer seriously. It's not sexy, it's not funny, it doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. All I know is I will not be continuing this.
