Publisher's summary

He’s inherited the title of rake. She hides behind her independence.... Fate accepts the challenge.

Grace Beaumont has seen what love can do to a woman. Her mother sacrificed her life to produce the coveted son and heir. A devastated father and newborn brother force her to take on the role of Lady Boldon at the age of 15. But Grace finds solace in the freedom and power of her new status.

Christopher Roker made a name for himself in the military. The rigor and pragmatism of the army suits him. When a tragic accident heaves Kit into a role he never wanted or expected, his world collides with another type of duty. Returning to England and his newfound responsibilities, the Wicked Earls’ Club becomes a refuge from the glitter and malice of London society but cannot ease his emptiness.

Needing an escape from his late brother’s memory and reputation, Kit visits the family estate for the summer. Lady Grace, a beauty visiting from a neighboring estate, becomes a welcome distraction. When the chance to return to the military becomes a valid possibility, the earl finds himself wavering between his old life and the lure of an exceptional - and unwilling - woman.

Sweet

The Earl of Sunderland by Aubrey Wynne was such a sweet read. A little bit of heart breaking but completely swoon worthy.. The narration was okay but not exceptional, maybe I'm just not used to male narrators. Still a perfect and romantic read. 😊

A reap treat!

Never read author before. Came across story description , intrigued and glad I did. No heavy panting by characters, no graphic sex scenes. Just sweet romance.

Great Story!

The Earl Of Sunderland by Aubrey Wynne and narrated by Kevin Archer is a standalone historical regency romance that has no cliff-hanger. This story is suitable for all ages as there is no swearing, explicit sex scenes or violence. This is a clean well written story with a happy ending. There is angst, tragedy, and heartbreak but it is all tastefully done in a very entertaining story that I found extremely enjoyable. Kevin Archer did an excellent job narrating in a voice perfect for the well developed characters you will come to care about. I highly recommend this story, I loved it!

Hot Historical Romance

This was a great historical romance with an HEA. The characters were well portrayed that allowed you to feel as if you truly know and understand them. The storyline was really good and I was rooting for the main couple really hard by the end of the book. The narrator did a good job especially with the male characters. I wasn't as fond of his women's voice but I'm sure it isn't easy for a man to change to a feminine voice let alone different feminine voices. It didn't take away from the great story which I feel is most important. This is a definite must read if you like a sexy historical romance.

Sweet and Simple

Military man Kit was the younger twin, born shortly after his brother, who was first in line to become the Earl of Sunderland. But when his newlywed brother dies shortly after his wedding, Kit returns to his childhood home to take on the title. However, the new widow is expecting a baby and puts the future in limbo. If she has a boy, Kit is back to his old life, but if it's a girl, he can keep his title and change his life forever. And as they wait for the baby to be born, someone steps into his world that he hopes never leaves.

Grace became the lady of the house at fifteen when her mother died in childbirth after finally producing a male heir. The small family grieved, but Grace threw herself into raising her little brother and running the estate alongside her father. She convinced herself that love and marriage was not for her, but when she visits her recently widowed and pregnant cousin and meets Kit, she may just change her mind.

Squeaky clean, this listen is for all ages. Kit and Grace share a few kisses and brush hands, but nothing more. However, their attraction is very physically based in the book, which was confusing at times since they would later think how great their off page conversations had been. I would have liked to witness their deeper chats and expand on their connection. Although their personalities on their own were very well fleshed out and you did want them to work out, if only to let Grace have her cake and eat it too by way of having a permissive husband who would probably also allow her to stay home.

The subtitle of Wicked Earls' Club made me wish there was actually more of the bawdy crew in the book! One would think the wicked earls would be, well, wicked. Sure they gambled and cavorted with "ladies of the night," but that was off page and skimmed over. In fact, no one was wicked. They were all perfectly nice, accommodating, and they should have been called Sweet Earls' Club instead.

It's been ages since I've listened to an audiobook narrated by a man, but Archer was perfection. His tone and passion really worked for the book and I can't believe I haven't listened to him before! His narration work was so convincing, it's easy to get lost in the world of Grace and Kit.

Overall, it was a cute book, a fast listen, and what a sweet, historical romance should be.

Another Win for Wynne (and Archer!)

This historical romance does not disappoint! You feel for the characters -- their pain and their joy. Kevin Archer did a wonderful job with the narration. The pleasing tenor of his voice and his lovely accent lend perfectly to this book. This is my first listen of Mr. Archer's but I enjoyed it enough that I've searched to find more of his narrations -- this won't be my last listen of his! This novella does well as an audio book. The author does not write overly descriptive scenes, but I think the narrator does a good job through voice inflection, etc. to put you into the book. I would recommend this audio book, as well as the book itself.
I received this audio book at my request and I voluntarily wrote this review.

Wicked Earls!

I expected wickedness with the title of the series, but what I had was my heart fluttering, some smiling and as I got to listen to the first book in this series. Aubrey Wynne writes beautifully and her visual context put me right back in time as we get to know Kit and Grace. Kit never thought he was going to be the Earl, but the unexpected death of his twin brother has him coming home to groom for the role. He is unmarried, and isn't looking for a wife. When he meets Grace though, all bets are off. Grace is taking care of your young brother and while enchanted by Kit, is not looking for marriage. The perfect couple, right? Their journey to find each other and the passion they do find is well worth the wait. Add in Eliza, who I love as we go through her pregnancy and Sammy with his times with Kit and we have pure entertainment. The story is gorgeous and the quotes at the beginning of each chapter perfect.

This is my first narration by Kevin Archer and I loved his voice. He is perfect for historical romance, just enough of the royal intonation that gives the Earl's that important sound. I enjoyed his performance.

A wonderful performance!

This installment in The Wicked Earl's Club is a warm and wonderful story. Kit and Grace meet at a wedding for a single dance, then meet again after the death of Kit's twin brother. The romance that started with that fateful dance blossoms along the pages of this well written novella.

Bringing the story to life is completed by Kevin Archer. His deep baritone voice sends chills down the spine! Mr. Archer has the most beautiful speaking voice. I hope to find more books narrated by him.

From war to peace?

[This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.] Christopher [Kit] Roker had always been comfortable being the second son and had made a name for himself, in the army. After fighting at Waterloo, Kit decided he would not be in another war and decided to go home. Before Kit can leave a messenger brings him a letter from his father, and his life changes.
