Publisher's summary

Futuristic Dragonshifting Romance

Mede of the Draig knows three things for a fact: As the only female dragonshifter of her people, she is special. She can kick the backside of any man. And she absolutely doesn't want to marry.

Mede has spent a lifetime trying to prove she's as strong as any male warrior. Unfortunately, being the special, rare creature she is, she's been claimed as the future bride to nearly three dozen Draig - each one confident that when they come for her hand in marriage, fate will choose them. When the men aren't bragging about how they're going to marry her, they're acting like she's a delicate rare flower in need of their protection.

But Mede is far from a shrinking solarflower.

Prince Llyr of the Draig knows four things for a fact: He is the future king of the dragonshifters. He must act honorably in all ways. He absolutely, positively is meant to marry Lady Mede. And she is dead set against marriage.

Llyr's fate rests in the hands of a woman determined not to have any man. With a new threat emerging amongst their catshifting neighbors, a threat whose eyes are focused firmly on Mede, time may be running out. It is up to him to convince her to be his dragon queen.

A Prequel Story

About Book 9:

Before four princes and four noblemen found their brides, before the death of the Var King Attor and the threat of the Tyoe miners, there was a time of peace on the planet of Quirlixen. It was not a strong peace, but it had lasted for quite some time between the catshifting Var kingdom and their northern neighbors the dragonshifting Draig. It lasted because both sides had very little to do with each other. It is here the dragons found their queen.

How the Queen got her Man

Would you consider the audio edition of The Dragon's Queen to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version but if it's anything like the audible version then it's fantastic

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed finding out how Queen Mede met her King. She is one strong female.

What does Mason Lloyd bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brought each character to life. He did a very good job with this audible.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found myself laughing a lot. Mede is a strong willed and quite stubborn female.

Any additional comments?

I was gifted this audible for my honest review.

destiny has a way to catching up with you

If you could sum up The Dragon's Queen in three words, what would they be?

fierce, funny, fantastic

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it's such a fun listen and great read

Any additional comments?

I love this series and Michelle Pillow's books. This audible was funny and I enjoyed it.
If you've read or listened to any of the other books, this puts a few things in perspective ;)
I really liked Mede and Llyr together. I felt that their romance wasn't rushed and that love happened not because of sex, but because they got to know one another. It was interesting to learn a bit about Attor and how this book was influencing to the others. I enjoyed the other characters, and the roles they played.
I enjoyed listening to Mason Lloyd. I always enjoy listening to him and his lulling voice. I find his voice choices for each character entertaining, although different than what I hear, I think he does a great job

Great book

In this prequel we get to find out how king Llyr and queen Mede met and fell in love. As well as the reason behind the war between the Draig and the Var. Mede is feisty, brave, strong, stubborn and the only living female dragon. I think she might be my favorite female so far. I really liked Mede and Llyr together. I enjoyed this book. I loved the humor and the romance. The book is very well written and a must read for all paranormal readers.

I highly recommend this series. It's a really good read.

The Dragon’s Queen by Michelle Pillow

This should be the first story to this series. The story is of the Princes parents and how their father always felt the mother, even as children belonged with him. There is conflict with the other inhabitants of the planet called the Var. The prince of the Var believed Mede, the heroine, belonged to him. This is a good story and the narrator did an excellent job. HEA

Dragon Prince Finds Love with One of a Kind Woman

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely recommend this audiobook. I have loved this series since I started reading it. This one is a "prequel" to the first book in the Dragon Lord's series. I was impressed the first time I met Queen Mede and this story gave me a new appreciation for her as a queen and mother.

What other book might you compare The Dragon's Queen to and why?

I am not sure what books I could compare The Dragon's Queen to except the other books in the series. Mede doesn't want to be a wife and especially not a mother. She wants to be a member of the Order of the Dead Dragons.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved when Lyr comes to save Mede from Prince Attor and she ends up turning into the dragon from their legends...a dragon with wings that allows them to fly and can breathe fire. Lyr finally admits that Mede makes his crystal glow and she admits that she wants him as her husband.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it is a great story and is very well narrated. Mason Lloyd does a wonderful narration that sucks you into the story.

Any additional comments?

The first time I met Queen Mede in the Barbarian Prince I was amazed at how poised and understanding she was with the all the brides. This book gave me a whole new view of Mede. She was a rebel in her youth and felt she had to prove to everyone that she was just as good, if not better, than the guys. Prince Llyr is so patient with her once he finally gets to meet her. Even though he lies to her about his crystal, you still can't help but love him because he will do anything for Mede.

This book really sets up the relationship between the Draig and Var for the other books. Attor didn't seem to care about what the Draig were doing since he had his own issues with his father, the Var King. Attor never notices how he is manipulated by Myrddin since Myrddin makes it appear as if it's Attor's ideas.

new favourite

I've been waiting for Mede and Prince Llyr's story and Ms. Pillow didn't disappoint. I think this is my new fave, got answers to some of the questions that arose from reading the previous stories, such as why King Attor, the delusional cat shifter, hated the couple so much and we get to meet Mede's Mother who helped shape the future Queen. Mede is the perfect mate for Prince Llyr, keeps him on his toes and makes him work for her affections until she realizes that fate cannot be eluded.
I like the narrator's voice, Mr. Lloyd made quite an improvement from the previous narrations I listened to, he has more passion and I can hear the feelings behind the words most of the times. Thank you for an enjoyable listen.

Loved it!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Dragon's Queen to be better than the print version?

I think both are great. I would still want to read the book. I will forever love reading in print. That will never stop for me. But it's great to listen to the story too. Love both!!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

If I had to choose, I would say Mede. I like that she is the only Female Dragon. She's smart, confident, strong, & in love with Llyr. She has shown that she can keep up with the best of them. She's gutsy too!

What does Mason Lloyd bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I do like how he gets into character & makes each characters voices different. He brings their personalities to life.

Any additional comments?

I really loved to read about the Dragon Princes' parents' love story!!! Really enjoyed it sooooo much!!!
